My spoiled girls wanted to share some pics of their cage & room with their new goodies that arrived today in the mail (cage cover, turtle hideout, harnesses and some more add-ons to their ferretrail tunnel creation). All I can say is spoiled little monsters ;D
Their Room (actually my bedroom, but let's face it, it's their room now, even my pillow cases smell like ferret because they insist on sleeping inside of them ;D)
More toys and tunnels, the turtle is new and they love it!
Winding clear tunnels around a cat post and then sticking one end in one of the holes makes for the funnest toy ever! The giant storage bin is to keep all their other gear (first aid kits, etc.) and litter boxes when they aren't outside of the cage so that my other animals don't get into them.
Notice the large number of litter boxes, I may have jinxed myself when I made that post a while a back about them being litter trained but apparently placing a litter box everywhere they feel the need to go is working ;D
The exit ramp to their ferret nation hasn't arrived yet so when they are tired from playing they curl up together in their hammy under the cage
Funny story though, they HATE the harnesses and leashes. They were both literally shaking while they were wearing them, poor babies! Don't they look snazzy though?
Olivia in pink!
Sophie in purple!
She was so scared though as you can see, she's hiding in my lap
love the girly colours!
cuties!
And finally their lived-in cage, since the only pictures I had posted before were of the cage sans ferrets. I've discovered brown paper bags = best disposable feeding dens ever minus the 3 am feedings where you wake up to "crinkle, crinkle, crunch" ;D The new cage cover is rolled up in this pic.
Disposable cardboard box feeding dens with chicken wings attached by shower hooks are also extremely handy minus the "bang, rattle, bang" at 3am as they attempt to stash the entire den
And here's the cage all covered up. There are ventilltion holes in the sides. The blanket on top is for my cat Marbles (as you can see ;D). Not sure how often I'll leave the cage fully covered like this, although one of the vets actually recommended keeping the cage dark when it's dark outside if I need to have a light on in my room. Apparently keeping them on a natural lighting schedule helps prevent adrenal?
At the very least, the cover rolled up should stop them from flinging their meats out of the cage in the middle of the night ;D
Anyways that's it! They are spoiled monsters, but it keeps them out of trouble, so far... ;D
