Yes! He is doing better, he seems happy but still doesn't have the energy like he used to, we have a vets appointment in a few days and I'll be asking a lot of questions and have him show me how to take BG test at home. Thank you for asking

Hope he continues to improve!
Just wondering if there's a sticky or other thread on here that talks about how to monitor BG at home? Like how to take it and what the normal readings should be?

I'm glad that your little fellow is feeling better. I found that it took a couple of weeks, maybe a month before Fun-Go actually started to feel really good. He actually went out of his way to bite me today...I know sounds stupid but the change in his attitude before was way too sudden, too far the other way. He was being good...not really. Just being that way because he didn't feel well enough to be bad . I have my old Fun-Go back and actually recognize him again ciao

There was improvement within a week to 10 days but he still was ...off. Rather cudley, sleepy, he gave kisses. He was more active, but still not playing. Wandering around, showing interest in things but still watching the others play. He's been on his meds for just over a month now, and as I mentioned....h-e' s b-a-c-k ;D ;D ciao

what kind of kibble are you feeding him? are you supplementing with some kind of 'soupies'? if so, what are you giving and how often & how much?
never ever change the dosage of the meds without speaking with the vet beforehand!! and that goes for ANY med!!!
reducing pred dose for insulinoma is almost never done - it's much more common to have to increase the dosage, sadly!

My ferrets are completely off kibble, they are fed raw soup three times a day with added chunks of meat, I also add a little olive oil to it, and egg. I feed as much as they need.
And thank you for the other heads up, I'm never adjusting that dosage AGAIN! I'm still mad at myself for it...

I'm never adjusting that dosage AGAIN! I'm still mad at myself for it... Don't be. Your heart was in the right place Now you know so no need to beat yourself up about it. We as ferret owners ALL make mistakes.
