Hello! Zoey's meat FINALLY came in yesterday. I've yet to start her soup as my eggshells were not dry yet. I did offer a piece of ground Pork to Zoey. Omg she FREAKED, ran away and hid. I tried the scruff and stuff method to get her to taste it but she's so squirmy. I eventually gave up, not good i know, but she was tired and crawled into bed.
For soup and further meals down the road is it ok to use the same protein for heart and mix up the muscle meat and bone in meat?

Hooray for fresh meat, lol. Zoey is really beautiful. I'd love to have a blaze like her. Females really hate being scruffed. Save that for the vet visits and sit with her on the floor. Put her on your lap and offer the ground pork. Roll it up in a tiny ball and talk gently to her. Wiggle it in front of her mouth and let it touch her lips. Keep doing this a few times a day. Zoey is 9 months old and has imprinted on her food so it's going to take some time and patience working with her. She simply doesn't recognize this new food as food. It's best to keep the proteins in the soupie the same. That's one reason we start with chicken. By using the same protein we can tell if there is an allergy or intolerance to that protein. If you mix them up then you have to figure out what caused the issue. Further down the road you will have a variety of meats. The more the better. We like to see at least three different proteins. I'll link the Frankenprey menu for you. One small note that I noticed in her application. Whole Prey must be an adult animal. Pinkies are fine as a treat but don't have the nutrients that a grown animal has. holisticferretforum.com/natural-diet/raw-diet-the-meat-of-the-site/basic-frankenprey-menu/You and Zoey will do fine. She's a real beauty and I'm so jealous. Keep asking questions and learning. Once your Mentor is assigned to you then you'll be ahead of the game.

I'm gonna really work with her tonight, im determinded to beat her stubborness. I'm starting her soupie with pork, I wasn't sure if I should even try the chicken since she might have an allergy. Speaking of allergies she's chewing he sides a lot and not in just a grooming way, she's losing hair could this be a sign of the allergy to chicken in her kibble? I checked for fleas and only found 1 about a month ago, i check her daily for them and havent seen one. So I thought maybe it was dry skin so I bought a cool mist humidifier which seemed to help and her hair on her neck grew back, but now shes chewing her sides. What do you think?

Something is irritating her. She's awfully young at 9 months to worry about Adrenal. Allergies to chicken would usually show through her poop.
It's still a bit cold for fleas unless you have other pets around but you said you check her daily.
Ferrets are very itchy animals but they don't usually lose fur from it. Will she eat eggs. A raw egg can help with itchy skin and I would try to get some fish oil in her diet. The Omega Fatty acids in both eggs and fish can really help.
Are you seeing any rashes where she is itching?

Her neck and sides just started looking more pink than normal, I was thinking about the oil too what kind salmon? Our dogs are chewing a bit too so it could be something in the house. I just hate watching her scratch so much

You can see how thin her hair is on her side

If the dogs are also itching then it must be something around the house. Dog allergies are most often caused by their food but since Zoey is itching then I'd take a good look around.
Avoid any laundry detergents with fragrance, remove any scented candles, add some moth balls to your vacuum cleaner bag and vacuum really well. Don't use any artificial products for their coats that say they make the fur softer. Avoid spraying perfumes around them. Get down on your hands and knees and look around and see if you notice anything crawling around.
Can you post a dangling picture of Zoey? That will help me see if her fur looks too thin and what the rash looks like.

I removed all detergents from her laundry, i use a basic arm and hammer brand on my clothes. I'm wondering if its dust. Our house is dusty no matter how much we dust (we're moving soon thank god) but I might quarantine her from the living room because she hasn't scratched this much since she's been able to go under the couches and what not, just to see if thats a possibility.

When I get home from work I will post a side and back dangling photo. I'm just thankful she hasn't broken skin while chewing/scratching

Below are photos of her back and sides. Update: tonight has been crazy, I finally made her soup! I placed the bowl in front of her and she seemed extremely interested until I got some in her mouth. She acted like she liked it but then didn't and squirmed away. I've been giving it to her little tastes here and there. She's avoiding me at all costs and hanging with my hubby. Edit : so literally right after I posted this my hubby scruffed her and i put more in her mouth. She continued to eat about a tsp, and then started rubbing her face all over everything to get the meat off lol. Also the vet had called me to check on her and got negative with the raw feeding ha! Too busy trying to sell me horrible kibble. I will continue to give her tastes and hopefully she'll munch it down!

Day 2 Am Zoey ate about 1/2 tsp this morning, once she got a small taste she just started eating it. She actually got a few slivers of heart and liver (apparently my food processor sucks!) and ate them right up! She then ran away to play. After about 15 minutes of play she hopped of the bed and started licking the side of the bowl, but quickly ran away and started looking for kibble around he outside of her cage, i pulled her back over and put a spoon of it near her mouth and started eating it again, about another 1/2 tsp down the hatch! PM Came home from work and grabbed an ice cube size of soup and thawed it for her. She gobbled it right down!! I'm thrilled!

Perhaps it's a spring time shedding but I'll keep an eye out and see what other ideas are being offered. I'm sorry about the vet. They mean well but don't get enough classes on exotic animal diets. The studies are funded by pet food companies and they can make a profit selling kibble. Females don't like scruffing very much. I think it's better to make meals fun and pleasant. Play with her first and then sit down on the floor and try spoon feeding. Buy some cute plastic baby spoons and offer it from those. Put her on your lap and gently place your hand over her so she knows you are there. Then try offering some. Dab some on her mouth and then offer the spoon again. Zoey has imprinted on her previous food. She's not a kit at 9 months so if you just put a plate down then she won't recognize it as food and that's why you want to coax her. She is just beautiful and I love seeing pictures of her.

I put out another ice cube size of soup this morning before I went to the gym, came home and it was gone! She seems to be enjoying it now. 2 cubes in the morning and 2 cubes at night is what I've seen for feedings, is this ok or should i put more out as long as she'll eat it? Should her kibble be left in her cage during the day, or should i remove it completely? I've seen different time frames that the soup can be left out, 4 hours? Sorry so many questions!

Questions are great. Don't ever worry about asking too many questions.
If the soup is gone then she could eat some more. What's going to happen is that her little body will crave nutrients and she may eat alot now and often. Spring is coming so they usually eat less and lose weight but she may continue to want to really eat for awhile to come.
If you know for sure that she is eating the soupie on her own then remove the kibble at night and put out the soupie. Soupie is easily good for 6-8 hours.
I leave food out at all times. I put out breakfast and pick up the dinner plate. Then I put out dinner and pick up the breakfast plate. But remember I'm on Bone In and Bone In is safe for much longer. You can do that with the soupie but put less out and pick up the plate halfway through the day and put out another.
Now you want to add some tiny slivers to the soupie. About the size of your fingernail crescent. When you put a plate of soupie in with her at night, put a plate of long thin slivers also and see if she eats them. Count them and see how many are gone in the morning.
Fabulous progress and you should be quite proud of yourself and Zoey. (dance)

Last night I took the kibble out. Zoey seems EXTREMELY playful since she started her diet, looks like it's making her feel good. (dance) She woke me up at about 2:30am last night. About 1 ice cube was left. She destroyed her cage! Ramps were ripped off from where they sit, fleece was bunched up, her bed was turned around. Let her out for about an hour and then she passed out lol. Woke up this morning and she had about a penny size of food left, cleaned it out and putting out fresh when she's up. Should her kibble go back in for the day time? Does this look like a normal soup stool?
