I always thought they dissolved. I can still feel all 3 of them still in Bleu.

I rarely can feel more than 2 in my guys. They do dissolve or migrate, though I can't find more than 2 with Atreyu. I can't find any in Nefarious ciao

I was just wondering about this. Does leaving them in when they're done have any side effects?

No, no side effects. And for some reason it does seem to take longer than others to dissolve. I also wonder if with some ferrets, a bit of scar tissue will form around the implant making them take longer for the body to dissolve.

Peter had 3 detectable usually. They were smaller though over time.

I met a little old "naked" sprite at a shelter, a very much loved permanent resident. She was over 7 and had no fur left at all. You could clearly see a whole bunch of implants around her shoulders, so I think that in many cases they don't dissolve. I wish they did, it's a little creepy to think of them all there. I always think of that when I get Maisie implanted, and worry that the vet will accidentally run into an old one when implanting a new one!

I think they dissolve. Some take longer than others.
