As Joan has mentioned any breeders who've been breeding for fancies are going to have the same health issues that we have in our farm ferrets The most stable and healthy colour is the sable or poley, the albino if from original stock is the next. Unfortunately, because of the desire for the exotic colours, markings, selfs and angoras the breed lines over here have become seriously compromised and true sables and albinos are very few. According to some UK breeders this had become an issue several years ago when the fancies became very popular over there. I knew of one breeder who finally let his lines die out starting over again from scratch after discovering that breeding for show and fancies had destroyed the health of his breeding stock. I would guess that any 'bino kits that one sees in pet stores would be the product of fancy breedings and not of albino stock ciao

Oh he is beautiful!! So awesome to hear of a healthy ferret that age. The "otter" pose kills me every time.
