And I think I killed the blender. I picked up a pack of 6 boneless thighs, thinking that I'd be able to blend them up into a nice soup along with some squash baby food for fiber. I did not think that I'd need to chop up said thighs before stuffing them all in the blender. It's moderately soup-like, especially with the addition of Ferretone. Sadly, my boys find the orange, stinky gloop as unappealing as I do. Bear made the most horrible face as he tasted it and then he looked at me like I was killing him. Next time, I'm going for the freeze-dried stuff. I'm not as hardcore as the raw frankenprey/whole prey feeders yet. And my house still smells like a smoking blender motor.

oh yes, i haven't found a blender that will do bone. bent the blade on one blender from bone for soup i put bone meal in (or egg shells) as a bone substitute. What else did you put in it? the ferrtone might be what they are turning their noses at. I did that with my first batch and only one would touch it. I dont use it any more.

For a soupie, try just a couple of chopped up thighs, a couple hearts a liver, and 1/2 tsp powdered eggshell Scruff and dab on their noses repeatedly til they start licking it from your finger. That will likely go over better, both for them and for you! And be much easier on your blender!

There wasn't any bone, though I did add some calcium supplement to it. Usually they go crazy for Ferretone so I don't think that made them gag. It was just my bad soup-making skills. EDIT: Thanks, Sherry. I'll give that a go next time.

Yeah, you definitely will need to chop of the larger meats before blending them
