I am seeing this post now and I know it is been a few days, but upgrading my PC costed me losing a loads of data so I am still struggling to arrange all my accounts, passwords, links... Well, next time I will let someone more skilled to do it for me, definitely As for inhalers, @ferretfiveo, did your vet said you will need nebulizer or classic inhaler treatment (ones people use for asthma)? Because procedure is different for both. We have had ferrets with chronic bronchitis and sinusitis due to persistant bacterial infection as a long term corticosteroids use side effect and we used nebulizer. This is usually a small machine people use to give inhalation to babies. I will dig and take a photo of our bigger one. We have two, but we borrowed smaller one to a guy who adopted ferret from our Association because he is sick. All in all, hope you find a well balanced therapy for your Maverick <3

packed: unpacked: Zina is interested: So, basically, how it's done... pour few mililiters of NaCl, add a dose of medicine (drops, injection solution or inhalation solution in the container. Keep it up in order not to pour. Mount it on a transporter door using fabric, flexible wire or something similar. Something which your ferret won't chew or tear off. Add favourite blankie and hammock in. Put some salmon oil on ferrets belly, put him in transporter, close the door. Put a blanket or towel to cover it completely. It takes some 15-20 minutes in order to evaporate some 5 ml of medicine solution. I can't find any of the photos where we actually used it. I know I made some but I take photos of our ferrets almost daily so there is a gazillion of them.

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've not been on. I'm finally feeling better! Then my son caught strep. He's feeling better too. Finally got all six loads of ferret linens washed yesterday, cages cleaned scrubbed down. Ferret room cleaned top to bottom.
Headed to the store here in a bit to get some hearts to make up a batch of soup! I'll be weighing everyone this afternoon and we're going to get this ball rolling!
Thank you guys again for being so patient. It's like on we got over one thing then we caught another. We spent a good two to ther weeks trading colds and viruses. I've disinfected the whole house! I sure hope all of that is behind us! Yikes!

Thank you so much Petra, I am unsure of whether or not we will be using an actual inhaler or nebulizer treatments at this point. Thank you so much for your info though! And if we do end up with a nebulizer I will definitely try that method!!
I am still waiting to hear back from the vet. I told you guys before, but our vet left and the office we were using doesn't currently have an exotics vet. We saw the specialist over a week ago and another vet at the practice was supposed to follow up with us...but no word yet. I wanted to give them some time because I thought maybe they're swamped because of our vet leaving with such short notice. I just called to follow up...they kind of acted like they had no idea what I was talking about but that they would have the other vet call me. I hate that we lost our vet in the middle of trying to get Maverick straightened out...luckily he's been having mostly good days. A few coughs here and there...but nothing too terrible. I'd really like to have meds on hand and a plan though before I do run into issues. Our closest vet that has an exotic vet is over an hour away....and the two emergency vets in my town don't treat ferrets! Ugh.

When it rains, it pours. I'm sorry everyone has been sick. It seems to be going around though. You got alot done so I'm glad you're feeling better. We have two vet lists and if you haven't seen them yet then let me know and I'll link them for you or you can pm a general location with how far you want to drive and I'll look for a member who knows of a good vet closer to you. You can also check with some ferret rescues and see who they use or even call your local zoo if they have ferrets. They might know of an exotic specialist. When you're settled in and have a chance, would you post a report card on how everyone is doing and what their weights are. Then once you're up and caught up we can start some more lessons. Give all the Snyder business a big hug and tell them they've been such good little ones during all of this.

I have seen one of the lists, the one listed on the Facebook page. I'm in central Virginia, the closest zoo to us is in DC, as far as we know the closest vet is atleast an hour away. Our vet was literally 5 minutes down the street, it's hard not having that comfort level. I assume they will eventually replace her with another exotic pets vet, a lot of their clientele is exotics. But who knows when, and you never know when something could pop up.

they are all on a same weight and as soon as you're ready we can start from the beginning i know it's hard when you don't have any exotic vet near you, mine is more than 2 hrs away. for any emergencies i go to a vet in the biger town near me (a bit less than an hour away) and i will keep my fingers crossed that your ex vet is replaced very soon! here's a list of vets by country and state holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/13638/vet-country-stateand here's a recommendations for a vets by our member holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/6/list-vet

I've been working with everyone.
Maverick, Paisley, and Bandit are still as interested as ever...I truly believe they would eat anything I gave them.
Durango is mildly interested and will eat if everyone else is doing it, Hoss seems to have regressed while I was sick...I had been making a bit of progress with him but he is back to acting like I'm trying to poison him. And cowboy is as stubborn as ever. I will continue to work with both of them. I feel like once I can get them on board everyone else is probably ready for some slivers..
I'm going to have to do some research on another source of hearts. I had been buying packages from the grocery store that were gizzards/hearts but there was always 10-12 hearts per pack, the last three packages I bought I was lucky to find five in all three packages.
With it being Monday would you like me to post report cards again? Or should I wait until next week since I just posted them?

Lol. I'm not used to posting about Granger and Cheyenne, I completely forgot about them! Granger ate like a piggy, he will eat anything. Little Cheyenne is super picky though...she'll take a few licks...but she isn't going at it like Granger :/
I'll post report cards later on this evening. My dog had to have surgery today and we're just getting her home and settled in..
