Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of this book and any books similar? i managed to get a copy of this book about 10 yrs ago. think that it's totally out of print now. there has been a lot of drama over this book. One of the folks in Australia told me that an updated version would be published, but it never happened due to some drama over in Australia. Send Sherry a message. She may know where to find it. The information in Fret Popper is very interesting, very informative. The problem is when you get a ferret from a pet mill, you don't know what mom or dad looked like or what the grandparents looked like, so there's nothing you can do about it. It does make me stay away from certain coat colors, but sometimes you have to follow your heart and it doesn't matter what their coat color is. Fara Shimbo published a book in 1984 (The Ferret Book) that also has a few chapters on breeding and genetics. Actually, I think some of the stuff in Fret Popper's may have come from Fara Shimbo. I heard that Tao Full of Detours by Shimbo is also good, but I have never found a copy and I am not sure whether it also addresses ferret genetics and breeding.
