I just started raw feeding my ferrets. I took the dry kibble away but some of them are still not eating the raw yet too good. The oldest one who I think (because I adopted her) is not eating hardly at all. Even when I feed her by hand she really hates it. should I put her kibble back in and have her eat kibble at night. She is really being stubborn. This is like day 4 or 5. I've been feeding her by hand but I am worried that she is not getting enough. I am also worried that if I put the kibble in then she won't want the raw at all (not that she wants it now) but it might be worse to get her to put the raw in her mouth. I feed her by hand. How much do I need to feed each ferret also?

Your ferrets have to be eating at least 1 or 3 oz for sprites and gibbs 3 to 6 oz for them to be considered raw fed. If she's not eating that minimum amount you have to find some way of getting food into her. You may have to put kibble in to her cage during certain times during the day or at night or she will become sick ciao

Thank you, Heather. They are actually eating better right now. I just made it more soupier and they seem to be eating that a lot better. The two that are fussy were even eating it. I think I was not making it thin enough. They were even eating it out of the bowl together. I have those two eating a bowl separate from the others that eat better.

Sounds fantastic. Texture is often the variant that causes the greatest problem when introducing raw food to ferrets ciao
