I realized yesterday that Riley began eating bits of the mice and rats I was putting out for Enzo, who has been eating rats/mice/guinea pigs regularly for about a week now. I also caught Riley eating a bit of the guinea pig out for Enzo.
This morning I gave Riley a warm mouse, just under an ounce, and watched her eat the whole thing. Tonight I laid out two rats (about 2 oz each). Enzo ate his and went to bed while Riley was still playing. When she went into her enclosure, to my surprise she ate the whole rat by herself!
These pictures are not great, but I snapped a few of her dinner!
So both of my cat snakes are on complete whole food. Tomorrow we are going to try a pheasant, but at least I know they will eat rats/mice/pigs. My next order from RodentPro (first one went so well) I will get more of those.
Right now their weekly meal plan is:
Monday AM: 6oz pheasant
Monday PM: 1oz adult mouse each
Tuesday AM: 2oz small rat each
Tuesday PM: 1oz adult mouse each
Wednesday AM: 5oz guinea pig
Wednesday PM: 1oz adult mouse each
Thursday AM: 1oz adult mouse each
Thursday PM: 2oz small rat each
Friday AM: 6oz pheasant
Friday PM: 1oz adult mouse each
Saturday AM: 5oz medium guinea pig
Saturday PM: 1oz adult mouse each
Sunday AM: 2oz small rat each
Sunday PM: 5oz guinea pig
Enzo eats about 3-5 oz per day and Riley eats 1-2oz.
"Who, me? Stash food? Never!"
