Hi I Read you where concerned about your dog and your ferret a lot depends on the temperament of your dog I have working dogs ( terriers and a whippet ) the whippet keeps well away and give full respect to them one of my terriers ( a plumber terrier who's breed is for fox ) is also ok but my border terrier can not be let within 20 feet of a ferret Billy is simply a no no so I cannot take him out hunting with me where ferrets are involved Ben and Blaze on the other hand are fine Blaze simply does not have it in his nature ( the whippet who is a sight hound ) Ben on the other hand learnt from a pup ferrets are a no no ( he got too close and ended up with a polecat stuck to his nose and lip lol )as others have said ferret proofing is a must don't think they can escape they can lol a lot have proved that to me over the years lol good luck keep us updated take care bye for now Bev
