The only way you can check at home is with a meter that has been set up with your vet's meter. Sherry used a meter for her wee girlie ciao

Pick up a meter used for diabetics at your pharmacy. When you go to your vet's take it with you, and you both test a blood sample, then compare the two meters. Your's is going to be either over or under the one at the vet's, so when you do it at home after this, you will either add or subtract that amount to get an accurate reading.

Update on Jack!
We went to our regular vet and got him checked out. The vet did another BG which came back normal and Jack got a good look over along with his distemper vaccination. There were not any noticeable abnormalities while the doctor palpated Jack's abdomen, though we found that one of his toes is slightly misshapen. (Probably from an injury when he was a kit.)
Since Jack's energy has been good and he hasn't gone into another attack, the doctor gave us the okay. He doesn't think that any other tests are necessary.
Dr. Spindel thinks that Jack is happy and healthy! Just in case, he did give us some emergency contact information and gave us a walk through of what to do if Jack goes into another attack. I'll be stopping by later in the week with a glucose monitor later in the week to get it calibrated.
Thank you, thank you everyone for all your help!!
