Here ya go! 1. List 2 good sources of taurine. 2. How can you tell if your ferret is getting too much or too little bone? 3. How many meals a week should be organ, and of those meals how much needs to be liver? 4. Give 2 examples each of muscle meat, edible bones, and organs. 5. How much and how often can egg be fed? 6. How can you tell if your ferret is too fat or too skinny? 7. Are leaner meats better for your ferret or fattier meats? 8. Is dark or white meat a better purchase choice? 9. How many different proteins does a ferret need in a week at a Minimum? 1. Tongue and heart 2. Poops, too much bone the poops get hard, too little bone and they are louse 3. 1.5 meals must be organ of which 1/2 has to be liver so 10% 4. Heart and gizzards, bones= rabbit and CGH- usually non weight bearing bones, 2 organs = liver and kidney 5. 1 egg per week per ferret and in shedding season 1 egg 2-3 times per week. 6. If you can see their ribs they are too skinny and too fat would be pooch belly. Most eat what they need to survive. 7. Fatty meats are better 8. Dark meat is better 9. 3 different proteins are required

Good job! Told ya you wouldn't have any trouble with that! One comment, though, on the the weight question... Your answer is correct but what I was actually looking for is that they should be tube-shaped when dangling. Heather, they are ready to graduate!

Let me know and I will wait off to graduate until the little one is complete ciao Morning, no let's graduate as we are on a waiting list from a private breeder, 4 Paws Wrecking Crew in Ohio and it could be a long wait. We were just asking how will it work and will we need a mentor then Thanks Heather

You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone . You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzz in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and through out their lives. I would like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets, you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Good luck with your newest addition. His dietary needs are going to be mildly different than the adults but basically it will be quantity more than anything. Good luck, in a few days Sherry will lock down this thread and place it in the archives but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly ciao

Congratulations! You did it!! And no need to be scared. We're here if you have questions. And when your new little one comes along, you'll do fine either with or without a mentor. With the new one being a kit, he/she will take to the raw easily but if you have questions, you can feel free to pm me or just open a new switching thread on your own. Or sign up for mentoring again...whatever makes you most comfortable.
Give those boys big smooches for me and keep in touch!
