I got the first adorable picture of the boys sleeping. The others are still giving me the spinning-wheel-of-death.
I really wasn't trying to be funny, lol. We all know that it's time...well, all of us except Gomez! I'm not too worried about Jax still having soup, but Gomez has been on soup a LONG time. Work on really thinning that soup out so it's almost a broth consistency and use less and less of it each meal.
And let's really get serious about the bones for both boys. You have chicken wings, right? Or CGH wings? Take a wing, the whole thing, and smash the bone with a hammer. You want the bone to almost pulverize. Then use a knife or scissors and cut the smooshed up meat and bone into the size chunks they are eating right now. For the next meal, do the same thing but smash a bone a little bit less. Then a little less, etc.

Woo Hoo! Got all the pictures now! Told you it was my crazy internet.
So you've been smashing all of Gomez's wingtips or just the other wing bones? Try smashing a little more thoroughly so they don't even have to crunch them. Maybe use the rib bones instead of wings as they are easier to smash. Oh, Jax can't eat the chicken though. Is he doing OK with the CGH? If so, use those rib bones for him.
How are they doing with the decrease in soup?

We have been smashing wings for both boys. We'll try smashing even smaller as suggested. The boys are mad!! About the reduced soupie. Neither is eating well and both have lost weight this past week. Jax is currently 955grams down 34 from his 989grams. Gomez is currently 1134g down 18 grams from a week ago. So they are throwing a fit about the more meat and bones and less soup. But we are leaving what's not eaten in the cage for them during the day and night for them to go back to if wanted. Sometimes they do. Others they don't. Jax seems to be doing ok with the Cornish game hen. So we will continue to offer pieces and parts of that to get him bone in meals.
This evening Scarlett found a bump at Gomez's tail. It's very tender or appears as such -he didn't want me touching the area when trying to get a better look. Will be calling our vet tomorrow for an appointment to get that checked into and fingers crossed that it's nothing more than either a sebaceous cyst or plugged hair follicle. So please keep us in your thoughts in that regards and for our patience to not wear thin as we progress down the raw transition that seems to have stalled. We are both worried due to the weight loss.
Thank you Jami

Here is what their dinner plates tonight looks like after both have licked all the very thinned soupie out and do meat eating. We have tried every size.

The plates are small saucers like 3.5 inches and like I said we have tried from slivers to this size and they will eat small chunks like pinkie nail size.

My post from yesterday just disappeared into thin air! Basically what it said was the weight fluctuation isn't enough to be concerned about. Their weights can go up or down in a week's time depending on several factors, including the time of day and how recently they last ate or pooped. Unless we see a steady decline in weight over several weeks without a cause (like seasonal weight loss), I really don't think it's anything to worry about, especially if they are acting normally, bouncy and energetic. As far as the food, I really want them to lose the soup crutch. Go ahead and go back to the smaller pieces that they will eat without the soup and we'll work our way up again. Also, try soaking a piece of juicy meat in hot water for a little while so some of the flavor leeches into the water and use that over their food. See if maybe that will satisfy their soup cravings. As far as them not eating well, that is worrisome. (Mine are not eating well right now and it makes me crazy with worry.) Try getting them started with a little spoon feeding. I know we've just gotten them weaned away from that, but if you just start them and leave them to finish on their own, it shouldn't set them back. Let me know what the vet says about Gomez's bump. It doesn't really look like a MCT to me, but I don't know. I hate that it hurts him. Hopefully, it's nothing serious and the vet will know what to do for it.

Hey, just home from work after a very long day....Jami came home earlier and fed the boys.....well, attempted to. I sprinkled breakfast with salmon oil and they ate much better. They did not eat dinner tonight had lamb and we have been adding water to thin out but will try soaking. Good about the weight fluctuations and thought so but wanted to check. Yea we are concerned about the bump as it is different from the mast cell he had a few months ago and we did the hydrocortisone. Vet is tomorrow at 5. after oil
