Alright. It will be another week or two before I can get to the store for more foods (tight budget) so they will get that long to get used to the meat chunks before I switch it up on them. I'm already liking how much easier it is to just toss the meat in the cage and not having to blend it up!!

Hello! I'm just popping in to say Hi! Thanks for being so understanding. It looks like you two are doing fantastic and so are the fuzzies. I will be back very soon and I appreciate your patience but you are in great hands with Sveta. Thank you both and give 'our' little ones big hugs for their great progress. I miss you all but it won't be much longer and then everything will return to normal. :wave3:

Things are going well. I crushed up a chicken neck and the boys stashed it but that's it. I know I haven't posted their weight charts in 3 weeks but I have been weighing them. Will get it uploaded as soon as possible. A lot of personal stuff going on my end that is keeping me away. Sorry

Okay, so as you know the boys are both on chunks now. They have their heart and liver soupie with egg shell (until I can get them on bone-in) and are typically eating everything before their next meal starts. I love how even if they miss a piece, if it is a little dry on top but smells fine on the bottom, I flip it over, they lick it and eat it. Such good boys. I don't have the entire thing available to post for the last three weeks worth of report cards, but I can tell you they've been eating, pork and chicken. I even bought some beef kidney and liver. Left out the heart because I bought pork heart instead this time in case the beef heart was the culprit of Poco's refusing to eat beef. However, I do have their actual weights. It's been 12 weeks now since they started the raw switch, so 3 months. I'm going to post their weights from the first one to the last one. 9/8/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 0.9oz Poco: 2lbs 3.2oz 9/12/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.9oz Poco: 2lbs 6.7oz 9/20/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 2.5oz Poco: 2lbs 6.1oz 9/28/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.3oz Poco: 2lbs 4.9oz 10/6/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 2.8oz Poco: 2lbs 6.1oz 10/12/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.5oz Poco: 2lbs 4.3oz Overall weight gain or loss: Shinchi: +0.6oz Poco: +1.1oz 10/18/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.4oz Poco: 2lbs 4.3oz 10/27/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 0.6oz Poco: 2lbs 5.2oz 11/1/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.7oz Poco: 2lbs 4.0oz 11/9/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.9oz Poco: 2lbs 3.6oz 11/15/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.8oz Poco: 2lbs 3.1oz 11/22/15 Shinchi: 2lbs 1.3oz Poco: 2lbs 2.1oz Overall weight gain or loss: Shinchi: -.1oz Poco: -2.2oz Thus starts another 6 weeks!

Their weigh seems pretty steady It's good that they eat all their chunks, it's excellent that they have come so far! (dance) So they have stashed their chicken necks? Good that they are interested, did they end up eating them or just hiding and ditching them? Try adding in chunks with crunchy bits in them, like small bones and cartilage. It might be easier for them to accept than the smashed necks, though they will get to them eventually Could you post a record of what they have been eating since this post to the next? (ex. Sunday: AM - Pork neck chuncks with smashed bone bit) PM - Heart soupie with slivers MOnday: AM - Chicken chunks with drumstick end cartilage PM - Chicken breast chunks with rib bits Tuesday: AM....) It'll be good for us to look at what you are feeding, and see where we need to go from here

Hello Brandi! How are things going? It might help if we posted here more often, maybe we can aim for twice a week? That way we will be able to keep better track of their progress. :DD Unless you need a break, then just say approximately when we should resume And if their weight doesn't fluctuate very much you don't need to worry about it. Keeping a record of it is a very good habit, but The main focus here should be on what they are eating.

I'm sorry. Going through personal things. Splitting up from my husband and working and school is draining. Just haven't had time to post. The boys are good. I wasn't keeping a journal of their daily meals because I wasn't aware I needed to until after they started bone-in. So I weighed them (was told by poncesmom I should give a weekly reportcard for both boys that's why I was mentioning it not being right) and wrote down a weekly schedule for them on what they would eat each day and so on. On Sunday or Monday I will be posting a picture of their meal board for the previous week. Going to be trying bone-in again on the weekends so that if they don't eat it I can supplement another protein for them.

It sounds like you are under a lot of pressure. Don't feel bad for not posting, we are just here to help. I'm going to say that this thread is on stand by while you work through your personal issues. So unless you want to, don't worry about posting until you figure things out.

I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS!
I have a video of Shinchi taking down his first chicken wing. I noticed the other night that after I left 2 smashed chicken necks in the cage (along with their other food) that the next morning it was almost completely gone. Only about half of the bone remained, so I stopped by the store and picked up some fresh chicken wings and decided to give it a try.
I'm so proud of Shinchi! I know that the two wings I put in the cage are more than likely going to end up going bad, but I hope if they get hungry enough that at least most of it will be eaten.
Poco just wants to stash it..anyway, I will probably get that video uploaded later tonight or tomorrow!

Hi Ladies. I am just checking in this morning before work and I will be back in the next few days. It sounds like things are going well with Shinchi and Poco. I'm sorry Brandy that this is not an easy time for you. See you soon and all my best plus hugs to the fuzzies. :wave3:

Hello, sorry with everything going on, the posting has been lax. The boys are good. Maintaining weight. Eating crushed chicken necks at the moment. I hear the crunch of bones and feel accomplished. They still won't really eat the chicken wings so I figure I'll just crush those too. Well I'm sick now and handling the boys with gloves and such. And now I have an 8 week old kitten. Poco adores her and vise versa but Shinchi tried to barrel roll her the first chance he got. So no sharing time out of the cage. Kitty goes in the bathroom for an hour or so and then when the boys are done back in the cage and kitty comes out.

I see everything is going well concerning the bone. It's all about gradually crushing the bone less until they crunch it well on their own. (dance) Make sure with bits of bone that they aren't round small bones which can get lodges in their throats. Like with muscle chunks, you want longer slender bone and bone bits. Another thing to watch out for, is to avoid giving them weight bearing bones because these can be hard enough to crack a tooth for an overly enthusiastic ferret chomping down on them. I'd really lie to see a weekly menu at this point so we can see that they are getting all their nutritional needs met With bone in meat sources you can really get creative, from frog legs and mice, to turkey wings, duck and rabbit, guinea pigs etc etc. You can also slip in some cartilage rich meals like pork necks. Cartilage is excellent for their joints, especially as they get older. Keep an eye on how their teeth will be getting cleaner as well from the bones they are eating.
