To answer your previous questions-I don't have much time, so I will only post the answers and not the questions to ask me. If you are confused about something, I will elaborate!
-Yes, I live on your side of the world. Charlotte, NC to be exact.
-No I haven't tried puppy pads. I heard they were pretty expensive to keep replacing and it just doesn't work with my budget. The Pine pellets work great. I asked my local store and they told me that they were treated to remove the allergen from the pine so that it is safe for all animals.
-When it comes to scruffing, I only do it on certain occasions. I prefer not to, but if they are simply refusing to eat, but I know they are hungry as soon as they taste it, I scruff them long enough to put the meat to their nose, just because it's hard to get it on there when they keep wiggling their head and it makes it easier on me rather than getting meat all over the floor. I scruff them when/if I have to give them medicine or when I'm about to drop them and I don't want them to get hurt by falling. I will do a quick scruff to get a better grip on them.
-I will try the meat slivers under warm water the next time that I try the slivers. I've decided to hold back on moving forward with the slivers until the boys are back on a better schedule. Hopefully by the end of the week. I already have the slivers ready and frozen of heart and some thigh. (remind me to upload the video of Shinchi taking the heart slivers from my hand, running to his stashy place, eating it and then coming back for more! I was so amazed!)
-Thank you about the writing comment. Writing tends to be a passion of mine and my true 'inner self' comes out haha. I'm sure if I acted in real life how my writing depicts me, I'd be slammed into a mental ward..
-Yes, I am a Nanny. The girls that I nanny for are 3 and 18 months. The 3 year old has sensory processing disorder and the 18month old has seasonal chronic asthma so they are both considered 'special needs' at this stage in their life. luckily, the younger one will grow out of her asthma as she ages and the older one is doing therapy 1-2 times a week to help her over come her obstacles. She has reached so many mile stones since I've been working with the family in just 8 months that it's crazy. I think the family is in love with me. Not tooting my own horn or anything.. or am I? I will never tell.
-I use Photobucket as well, I just can't seem to switch from photobucket to the site while using my phone.
-I did clean out all of the litter and put all fresh litter in last night. I just didn't clean the back wall because every time I do (and I do every other month or so) they get anxious about it and tend to poop in other places.. despite how big the darn thing is. Remind me to get you a picture of the cage set up now that I have floor and ramp covers.
-As far as the frankenprey diet goes, I really can't wait. I'm actually trying to get ahold of some local farmers around near me to see if I can purchase their 'left over organs' and stuff that they don't normally sell. This one place has duck eggs, chicken eggs, meat ducks, meat chickens, meat rabbits, pork and sheep. Though I don't know if the sheep is for eating or just for the wool. Waiting to hear back from them about that.
I am also trying to talk my husband in to getting me a small deep freezer-nothing big, but specifically for the ferrets and like, holiday hams and turkeys or whole chicken just for us. Our new freezer at our new apartment is VERY small and we can barely contain our own frozen stuff a long with just the frozen soupie. I will upload a picture of our freezer if you want to see what kind of space I'm working with lol!
Well that about wraps it up I guess.
