You and the girls are doing very well.
Roxy might just be feeling the winter coming and a bit sleepy today. We all have off days. Watch her poop though and if she doesn't seem to feel well over the next two days, consider a vet visit. It's not proven but we don't recommend feeding raw and kibble at the same time because they digest at different rates. That can lead to an upset tummy which might lead to a bacterial overgrowth. If her poop is funkier than normal and has a strong smell, then you should consider a vet visit for a course of antibiotics.
Hopefully your vet won't give you a grief over that. Bacterial overgrowths can be caused by other reasons, so don't let him discourage your raw feeding.
How big are the slivers now? You may need to convince Lizo to eat the slivers so make them tiny and try to sneak them in. Each step of the way, hand feeding helps at the beginning. I'm glad to hear they are eating mostly on their own. Lizo is simply enjoying the attention.
Start her off on your lap and then put her down beside her plate and sit with her. This is all still new and a little pampering can't hurt. They really are like two year old toddlers and want their Mommy's attention. You're building a lovely bond with them and they will reward you with more kisses and snuggles.

So miss roxy is feeling much much better. She had been running a fever but I had antibiotics at home from when they first came here 3 months back. I kept a small amount for just in case situations. At any rate I gave her a dosage in the AM and PM on Saturday and Sunday. By Sunday evening fever was gone appetite was up and fluid intake had improved.
So this morning she had 2 ounces of soupie and will eat again at 8pm. Roxy's weight currently is sitting at 1.11 lbs
Lizo has been great in fact she gained a full ounce and is sitting at 2.3 lbs. She is eating 2 ounces at each meal. Leaves a bite or two behind so I know she wouldn't want anymore.

Excellent progress. It's wonderful that they've been off kibble for a week now. I'm glad Roxy is feeling better.
Both girls are at a very normal weight and also eating a normal amount for a female. You're doing well.
The next time you make up a batch of soup, try using pork instead of chicken. Let's introduce them to a new protein. It's also time to begin adding slivers of meat to the soupie. Start out tiny. Make them about the size of your small fingernail crescent and hide them in the soup. You will see some funny faces when they come across one and they might spit it out. Use a small spoon and pick one up with some soup and offer it to them. If that doesn't work then try popping one in their mouth. Gently of course, but see if they will accept it. It's a new texture but time for them to get use to it.
Hugs to both girls and tell Roxy that I'm glad she is feeling better. :wave3:

1/2 tsp is the normal amount of egg shell or bone meal to go with the soup recipe, but when I fed my ferrets soup, their droppings were loose so I had to increase it to 3/4 tsp of bone meal.

*Ugh* had wrote a long post and my stupid computer locked up! So here goes again lol
So the girls are eating their last chicken soupie recipe today and this evening will have added pork instead of chicken. Both are off kibble for a bit now and full soupie. Both are eating 2 ounces per meal sometimes a little more but never less except when Roxy was sick.
I have a great butcher and they have given me some bone meal to use in their food so i won't need to use egg shells anymore.
Off topic a little but would like to get an opinion.
I've had the girls for 3 months give or take a day or so. They are approximately 10 1/2 months. Lizo is hyper and love to play rough with husband and cat and plays more softly with me. Amazing how she knows the difference!
Now Roxy from the get go was laid back was happy to watch the activity. She loves to take her plastic bottles and hide them, anything that crinkles. She doesn't get hyper though or dook much unless we really just keep bugging her to play. Is this normal to have such opposing personalities?

Oh my gosh! The girls didn't just like the pork they Loved the pork soupie! It was pork ground (no additives just pork ground up at the butcher) then they had a fresh cow heart so I've cut that up into one ounce bags and put in freezer except for an ounce I put in the soupie. And liver Turkey. The heart I didn't put in the food processor I cut up into slivers. They are everything! I had put 2 1/2 ounces each for them and they are all except for a couple tiny bites. I also have the bone meal now and used it instead of egg shell.

So I've added small slivers of cow heart and sometimes they eat it sometimes they eat around it. They are both eating a total of 4 ounces a day.

So the girls are doing good. Spoiled they tend to enjoy eating on my lap. Roxy is weighing 1.15 so gaining weight. Lizo us still at 2.4 so doing good weight. Slivers are hit or miss with the girls.

I'm shocked I had thought I had posted on here and hadn't. At any rate. The girls are doing well they are still eating soupie with small chunks of meat. Slivers didn't phase them any. We have introduced beef heart boneless pork chops and chicken so far. Food processor is my best friend. Roxy has steadily been gaining weight and is at 1lb 15 oz almost making it to 2lbs! Lizo is also doing well but always a step behind her sister. She prefers the slivers to chunks and is sitting at 2.5lbs now. They are much happier and more active as well so I am very happy about getting them started on their transition. Not sure how to get them to a point to get them to eat on their own though.
