So finally got to a computer to get this menu finalized and ready to post. so without further ado, here it is: Sunday Am:1/2 chicken liver, 1/2 beef kidney = 1.5 oz. Pm: Chicken winglet (bone in) = 1.5 oz. Monday Am: Goat (mm)= 1.5 oz. Pm: Rabbit (bone in)= 1.5 oz. Tuesday Am: Chicken Heart = 1.5 oz. Pm: Quail (bone in)= 1.5 oz. Wednesday Am: Beef stew chunks (mm) = 1.5 oz. Pm: Chicken winglet (bone in) = 1.5 oz. Thursday Am: 1/2 chicken heart, 1/2 beef kidney = 1.5 oz. Pm: Rabbit = 1.5 oz. Friday Am: Goat (mm) = 1.5 oz. Pm: Quail (bone in) = 1.5 oz. Saturday Am: Beef stew chunks (mm) = 1.5 oz. Pm: Chicken winglet (bone in) = 1.5 oz. She also gets a quail egg no more than 3 times a week, and mostly used as a snack or to help entice her when she is feeling picky. Wisp will do just about anything for quail egg. Also, on muscle meat meals, there is occasional substitutions or addition of chicken gizzards (to try and get rid of them and add variety). Really hope this menu is correct and sufficient enough to move towards getting wisp graduated. She has been very accepting of her menu and since changing to this menu of 7 bone in meals per week, her poops have been perfect: not too dry and not too runny. So I think this is a great ratio for her: 7 bone in meals,4 muscle meat meals, 1 1/2 organs ( 1/2 being liver, 1/2 being other organ), and 1 1/2 hearts.

This looks good except for one minor detail. The liver should be half of the total organ, so on Thurs AM, that meal should be 1/2 heart and the other half a mix of liver and kidney. I'm submitting this for approval now. We should hear from Heather in a couple of days.

Totally missed that about the liver. So will definitely adjust that. I also forgot to add the soon to be deer to the mix as well. But I'm not sure if I need to add that yet or not since it's going to be a while before she gets that. I did get the liver part right on my monthly amounts, but just not on the menu.

I have a question. So I know meat can be left out x amount of hours based on the type such as whole meat; chunks; soup; ect. So am I supposed to remove everything left over from previous meal before the next meal? Or should I cut her back? She sometimes eat everything other than a few bits, but then there are days when she doesn't eat much more than half of her food. Or do I need to cut her back a bit more than the 1.5 oz she gets already?

Would you mind just changing your submission menu to show the change with the liver? that way I can approve it You can also list other proteins that your little ones eat at the bottom of your menu to show that they're not being used that week but are still eaten. You can also list any novel proteins that are occasionally eaten as well ciao

Sure. Not a problem. And as far as other proteins, the ones listed is all that wisp gets right now. I will be trying to add lamb and deer in the future but that's in the future.

If that amount of bone in works for your little one that's great but be aware it is at the bottom end of her bone in meat needs. You have got a lot of wiggle room if her stools become loose or if another ferret comes into your care or if you get a kit you will have to increase the bone in their diet. Good luck. Congratulations  You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone :wave3: . You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzz in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and through out their lives. I would like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets, you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Good luck, in a few days Sherry will lock down this thread and place it in the archives but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly :goodjob: :christmaspresents: ciao
