Did you do a new batch of soup with meats from a different supplier? Even if they are used to go out on adventures with their humans, they might come back with a bit of stress poop. At least mine do tend to be this way, even my fearless explorers tend to have weird poop after nice adventures I wouldn't be too concerned, let him sleep and "digest" the day. Watch him closely if there is any change to the negative like loss of appetite, symptoms aggravating: poop turning into diarrhea, vomiting. Lack of energy. Then please do a vet check! The first photo: Looks moist, not too dry and has some undigested fats. As gomez gets used to the food that will clear up. I saw the same types of poops during my switch. You can expect a lot of funky looking poops since he will be detoxing for the first couple of weeks give or take. Gomez is also adjusting to the difference in diets. @poncesmom Opinion?

Gomez is a beautiful sable boy. His poop in the picture has a slight green cast and some mucous. That means his body is adjusting to new proteins. The mucous is a natural defense mechanism and the green mucousy poop means his food simply passed through a little too fast. It's all normal. They do sleep more during the winter and they eat more. They're so much like us, he may simply have felt lazy for the last few days.
Ferrets tend to be more awake during dawn and dusk. If it's the middle of the afternoon, it's often their favorite time to nap and can be hard to get them up even for play. After he eats some breakfast or dinner, try a blanket ride and some playtime and see if he is up for that. Some ferrets prefer to sleep right after meals and some like to play before meals and then eat and play some more before napping.
If he continues to be far too sleepy then consider a vet visit. It might be something as simple as a bacterial overgrowth and a course of antibiotics will clear that up. Has he had any kibble at all, maybe some that you don't know about? Has he been around any other new ferrets like a baby ferret?
They do love salmon oil. Too much and he will have very loose poops. Limit the oil to about 1/3 or 1/2 tsp every 3 days. You can put a drop of top of his food to entice him but keep the oil down as much as possible. That also makes it more of a treat and will come in handy during nail clippings and other times that you want to persuade him to hold still or learn a trick.
He will have funky poops for awhile during his transition. His body is detoxing from kibble. You'll see his fur change first from coarse to soft and silky. Then he will begin to smell like grape Kool-aid. Next comes a change of energy but it's winter and that makes it harder to observe. He will get lean and muscular. I noticed that mine developed the muscular body shape almost a year afterwards and they get plenty of exercise and time to use those shoulder muscles.
Always trust your instincts and if you sense something is really off, then by all means vet him. You know your Gomez best and see him on a daily basis.
Give Gomez a big hug. He's such a sweetheart and such a good boy. :wave3:

Samantha you are only like an hour but for Machan it's Monday already lol. This morning after his almost 4 oz and some chicken slivers he was more like himself and playing in his rice box then throwing litter pellets everywhere (I was laughing my butt off, Jami did not see a such humor - she is litter box mom) lol He has not had any kibble at all....the bag is up and sealed, cat food is up on a table. No new ferrets around him.... yesterday we walked into a local pet store to fit a vest on him, like 10 min. They had 2 ferrets about 3 months old but NO contact. I'll post more poop pics later to show today's progression.

On oil, that might be it too.....he does not get it everyday and when we do he gets like 1/2 teaspoon but he has had some the last week since he was acting like a 2 yr old and being no don't want that attitude so use it more to intice.
