Hey. So here was the day: AM: Wade ate nothing and went to the vet early, diagnosed with a parasite and will get some antibiotics. Bruce ate about 1 oz of the soup with the slivers. PM: Wade is at the vet getting fluids and he is being fed carnivore care. Bruce ate 2 oz of the soup mixed with slivers. He ate almost all of the slivers Bruce will be going to the vet tomorrow as a precaution to see if he has it too and if so will also be given antibiotics.

What sort of parasite? I hope he feels better!!sounds like Bruce is doing awesome. Try increasing the size of his chunks for the next step and making it less soupy.

He has coccidia. It's pretty stubborn too, he's feeling better but he's hooked up to an iv. Vet says poops are looking better now that's he's on fluids and meds. I am going out of town this weekend and a friend was gonna watch and feed them but with him being sick I'm thinking about boarding him there. His poop's have to be picked up as soon as possible to prevent being reinfected and he has to be under close watch so I'm thinking it might be best for him to be in their care. I don't want to leave him there but I absolutely cannot cancel this trip it's making me so stressed out. I feel guilty boarding him but I would also never forgive myself if something happened to him. At least being at the vet I know for sure he will get the attention and care he needs to get better. Bruce ate really well this morning, he ate most of the slivers. I'll know tonight if he has coccidia also, fingers crossed he doesn't. Mommy will be so broke by the end of this lol

Wade is still at the vet getting his meds and fluids. Just an update. Bruce is there also getting a round of meds. They are in a big cage and get play time twice a day.

Ugh I had to deal with coccidia with Loki my UK hob. Make sure you wash everything really good! I think my house smelled like a swimming pool for a month because of all the bleach I used.

I just picked them up a few hours ago. They both tested negative today and are done with the antibiotics! Wade looks so much better than he has in weeks. I will be back to updating on the switch. Thanks for understanding the lack of updates

So now that they are home. How are their poops? So glad they tested negative and are feeling better. Once their poops are back on track we can start trying to switch again.

Am: Wade only ate about a teaspoon. He lost a lot of weight while he was sick so I'm definitely concerned about that. Bruce ate an ounce and some of th slivers. He's back to wanting to eat out of my hand, not maybe the stay at the vet threw him off. Pm: Wade ate a teaspoon. Still putting his probiotic on his food. Bruce ate about an ounce of the soup with slivers and half of that was from my hand Weights: Bruce 890g, Wade 920g

Is Wade still eating kibble inbetween? I don't want him to lose anymore weight. Coccidia really takes it out of them and makes it harder for them to absorb nutrients until their intestinal lining heals. If you have some carnivore care you can try making a little soup out of that, or adding it into your soup.

Yes he is still eating kibble in between. I'm just nervous with him being so skinny and its the only thing he eats willingly. I've never seen him so skinny so I definitely want to make sure he gets back to his old self. Behavior wise he's still not completely himself either. He is eating and drinking but he isn't as playful as he normally is. I have some carnivore care that the vet sent home, the rest of the bag they didn't use from his stay there. I will give him some of that today, thanks for the suggestion! Bruce is doing great with raw. He at 2 oz this morning of a thicker soup with some bigger chunks in it. I had to feed a little off my hand to get him going but after that he ate it out of the bowl.
