I saw Sherry talking about Nature's variety here and figured I'd just ask here instead of making a new thread. But, is that stuff alright for ferrets, my Walmart sells some refrigerated in logs, I saw it a few weeks ago but it had vegetables on the packages so I wasn't sure if it was okay for them.

The frozen kind is fine. The veg. content is minimal, no more than 5%, so it works as fiber for them.

Wow where did you find the NV in Walmart? I'll have to see if mine carries it...

I just wanted to add that as much as Sonny likes the Stella & Chewys whenever I go a few weeks without adding wysong archetypal 1 to his bowl or soup (usually I run out of wysong first) I really notice a huge difference in Sonny's coat. After just a week of adding in wysong, his coat is silky and soft. I think it is the best freeze dried raw. Yes, it is expensive but they eat less of it anyway and it is awesome stuff.

I *THINK* it was NV. I saw it by the cat/dog aisle in a fridge.. I'll have to go check again it looked like similar packaging. They had logs and little containers of it.

Synu, I think know what you are talking about. I don't think the stuff that they sell at Walmart is raw pet food.

Probably not, there are a lot of labels with meat and the veges surrounding it.

I believe the NV is frozen, though? NOT refrigerated? We keep it frozen at the pet store I work at

Have to wonder what they use in that, if it sits in a fridge. They say not to freeze it? Because they don't give an entire ingredient list.

It's cooked so I guess it doesn't need to be frozen, but I don't get why they say not to freeze it either it shouldn't harm it.

They also say to refrigerate after opening. But even if you cook meat, put it in an air tight container, and set it either on the fridge or counter, it's still going to spoil without a TON of preservatives.
