it is expensive stuff. with the freeze dried food and treats from wysong and stella and chewy's --between the ferret and the dog i spend an average of $150 a month. my dog is a medium sized border collie though so most of this is for him. i have a male ferret and lately he has been eating about 1 and 1/2 to 2 S & C patties per day. he also loves the wysong arch 1. to me, it tends to go a longer way than the S & C. i feed him S & C and wysong in rehydrated form (either morning or night--depends on whether i have time in the morning) and i also leave about 1/2 cup of dry freeze dried chunks in his bowl. the Wysong Arch 1 really is great stuff. i would use it as an alternate meal and just to give variety.

I guess its about the same bc the small bags of the canine formula are 6 oz/ about $10 a bag. But with the feline its only one size bag (12 oz) I'm going to order some.

I feed the following: 1. archetypal I 2. Archtype burgers 3. Stella & Chewy's
A lot of people like the AFS, which is cheaper. My brats definitely like the freeze-dried raw fed DRY. Also, I can leave a bunch out for then when I'm out of town. It's incredibly convenient of your ferts prefer the stuff dry.

My ferret has eaten wysong arch 1 since I brought him home in Sept. He was a baby. They changed formulas and it was hard to get him to like it. He is eating it now though. About 6 months ago I added s & c freeze dried at your suggestion and he loves it. I have never tried the feline s & c though. I hope he'll eat it. He also loves the wysong and s & c dry! but I also make him soupies once a day with the freeze dried so I can mix in the reishi, coq10 & taurine.

The S & C feline formulas have pumpkin seed...will this bother them/potentionally cause any blockages? Sorry if that's a stupid question I just remember someone saying that Nature's Variety (I think!) has large pumpkin seeds that can cause blockages?

Does it have WHOLE seeds? If so, yes it is a blockage risk. If the seeds are not whole it shouldn't be an issue.

Jennifer (mustelidmusk) advised me that the frozen Stella & Chewy's has whole or large chunks of pumpkin seeds.
the freeze dried S & C does NOT have whole pumpkin seeds.

Jennifer (mustelidmusk) advised me that the frozen Stella & Chewy's has whole or large chunks of pumpkin seeds. I didn't even realize Stella and Chewy's had frozen ;D I know the freeze dried Nature's Variety has whole pumpkin seeds. Frozen NV is fine, however.

And, s & c has added taurine to their canine formulas (bc lack of taurine has also been linked to some forms of heart disease in dogs too!)

Figures CHP would start selling the feline S&C the day AFTER i place an order lol. my luck they will get the feline next time then. I have never tried the wysong (asides from free samples which they love) with mine i feel like it is too expensive for how much you get compared to the others.

Same thing happened to me. They started carrying it a few days after I ordered.
