Kenai and Koda used to be brought up as kits on whole prey and had the option to eat kibble but would rather the meat (understanding!) but their teeth were so small (they were 6 weeks old handed to me, trust me I was not happy but worried what the mother would do as she was a first time mum and kicked them out hence why I got given them so early) they could only suck on the meat, so I tried blending raw chicken fillets with their kibble to make like a ferret baby food as I was switching them onto just kibble eventually, mixed with whole minced beef for extra fat etc and finally after 2 weeks fully converted them over to just kibble with a raw treat of chicken every so often, but now I want to switch them back to raw as I never knew how bad James well beloved food was, and so far with a slow conversion they are chomping down bone in fresh rabbit which is portioned so they get a fair share and liver and heart, with minced beef sometimes, or chicken fillets as muscle meat, I am being supplied luckily by a family friend who hunts and offered money to cover shooting costs as shooting is not cheap but they won't accept it as they live my boys meanin I get free whole prey! From venison cuts for muscle meat, pheasant, chicken, rabbit, squirrel etc so they get a wide range and if he has not been able to get out shooting I can run to the hops to buy what I need sometimes, but rarely! So they are mostly whole prey, with frankenprey sometimes if it's not on the kill menu. I have a week one and week two menu for them also so I know when they have had some heart, muscle meat, bone in, live, kidney, and organs to keep track sorry I was rather happy how I am now giving them the full diet, oh! And they occasionally get a raw egg I'll post some photos of them chomping away aha
