How is Shelby doing? Have you tried the chicken yet? Shes doinh good. Energy levels look good. I did try the wing tips last night and well this morning I am looking at her litter box and its all mucousy green and there was a mucousy brown poop wasnt solid at all. I dont know if I should keep up with the chicken and see if her poops are different? You know treat it like a new protien or what do you want me to do?

No vomiting or watery diarrhea? Did she eat the bone? Let's do another chicken meal and see how she does.

I finally found your other thread and skimmed through it. Those poops didn't look good. And that's what her latest one looked like?

I finally found your other thread and skimmed through it. Those poops didn't look good. And that's what her latest one looked like? They were green an mucousy a lot like those. So I gave her a quail wing and leg and after that I tried the chicken wing again. Shes had about 1 or two poops since I gave her the chicken and they have been all solid so far. But I am not sure if those are quail poops or not. I will keep you posted on her poops.

1. Shelby 2. Between 1.8 and 1.9 ounces 3. I havent weighed what she eats. If the bowl is empty I fill it. 4. Poops have been off. But with the new meats its expected. Thry just have been mucousy with the duck and lamb. 5. Energy is great. 6. I have gotten her to eat everything on the menu. Except the organs I give her a meat she likes with her chicken heart and she seems to eat it. I have yet to feed her kidney and liver by itself rhose are thawing in the fridge as I type so that will be next. Then I will start her on the menu. By start her I mean give her whats supposed to be on what day.

Shelby is doing great!
You are correct in feeding her whenever the dish is empty, but it is important that you know how much she is eating in a day's time. If you can weigh all of her food once in a while, you will start to notice trends over time (she eats more when it's cool or eats less if you're not home with her or whatever). Knowing those things will help ease your mind when the time comes that she doesn't eat or has an off poop and you're worried. You can look back and see that her patterns are consistent, or that they're not and she needs to see a vet.
Have you given her any more chicken? How were her poops after?

I do notice though when its hot she doesnt eat as much. I also notice with poops however the duck ones are very loose and very dark. But the duck I have is a very dark and bloody kind of like beef. Lamb is just a loose poop. Quail and cgh those are very similar. Those are like tootsie rolls lol beef is a softer poop since I am not giving her egg shells on it. Heart poops are little soft too but not bad because I mix it with a food I know she will eat like a a quail leg. After I gave her the chicken wing and I got those funky mucousy poops. I gave her something I knew would settle her system again. Once I got solid poops again I tried the chicken wing once again and havent gotten any funky poops so I am going to try another chicken wing tonight and this will be the deciding factor.

You are making good decisions, exactly what I would tell you to do. Good job!
About those poops, what you're seeing is normal. Duck is fatty and dark so the poops will be just as you described. Lamb is loose because there's is no bone. Quail and CGH are bone in, so they'll be firmer and more formed. Heart and organs will cause loose dark poops, especially the organs. I sprinkle those meals with eggshell. Have you tried her with just organs yet?
Let me know how it goes with the chicken.

I finally got my pork kidney to thaw so I cut those up and bagged them in the freezer. I will try just organs tomorrow if thats okay?

Yep. If she doesn't like them, there are a couple of tricks you can try to get her to eat them. But hopefully, she'll just eat them.

Today her poops have been really mucousy and her appetite isnt there. Granted it was hot!!!! Like extremely hot. I will chock it up as that because she did have two or three that were formed.

It could be the chicken. Instead of giving her the organs this morning, give her something that her tummy likes, quail or beef. Let everything settle down and then do the organs.

Sorry today was weird. I just got on and whats funny is I have been only giving her quail today to settle her tummy. I thought about the organs and I decided to settle her tummy with the quail and then tomorrow when her tummy is settled I was going to try the organs. So I guess we are on the same page which is great!

Like I said, you are making good decisions! And little Shelby is doing great. You're not going to need me much longer. Once Shelby has proven that she'll eat her organs, I want to give her at least a week on the frankenprey menu to be sure there are no problems and then she'll be ready to graduate.
I want you to be ready when she is. Your menu needed a little tweaking. Fix it and post it again so I can make sure everything is balanced. Look over all the information I sent you in the mini-book and see if there is anything you have questions about. Make sure you understand how to adjust the menu if you need to, to add or change proteins or to compensate for too runny or too firm poops.
