1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
On the Ferret Lovers page on Facebook and on the Holistic Ferret page on Facebook.
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to.
Raw/whole pray. That is what my female is eating currently. She was an easy switch but I need help getting my rescued boy to switch.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
It is the best thing for them, I can see the difference it has made for Obi (my female)
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Are you willing and realistically able to make the neccessary time commitment?
I know it can take time and a lot of patience. I will do anything for my babies and he needs this. It is so worth the effort!
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for?
Obi is a 9 month old girl. She was born about the 10th of October 2014 and adopted by my family in January of 2015. She is healthy and seems to be a good weight.
Revan is estimated at 4 years old. He was rescued by my family on April 12th 2015 from a home where he was being very neglected. He has a vet appointment next week, but I can already see he is underweight.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc) Do they already eat some form of soup?
Obi - she eats a variety of raw and whole pray. She loooves chicken wings and mice!
Revan - he came to us eating Marshals and the brand you can by at Walmart. He has moved to Natures Variety Raw Boost and Wellness Core. I've gotten him to eat a little soup but he's not real thrilled with it.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened?
Yes, Obi was an easy switch and I'm trying to start with Revan but I'm at a loss on where to start with him.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
I love my two fuzzbutts! I also have a cat (moving to raw), two daughters (no hope of getting off Mac n Cheese lol), and a fantastic husband who puts up with my crazy ferret lady quirks.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
Every day
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
I have pics...but I cant figure out how to upload them into my post!
11. Have you met the requirements for this program? Are you at least 18 years of age? Do you have your scale, a place to access meats, hearts, livers, etc?
Yes yes and yes. We are all set up and ready to roll!
