He will be just fine to go without kibble from those times, I would try not leaving any out and like you said feeding before you leave and when you get back. Do you know how many oz he is eating of the soup per day? Ferrets are carb junkies, like us hoomans they want junk food, and kibble is junk food, so he could very well be holding out for it. Since he will eat when you aren't touching him, try just scooting away a little bit every time you feed him. See what he does. Just gotta be persistent and out-stubborn him

Since you know he willing eats the soup when you are there and he is otherwise healthy, I would absolutely leave him with soup rather then kibble when you are gone to work. I would actually do this with him even when you are home one day maybe first and just not sit with him at all that day to see how it goes and make you feel more comfortable in knowing he will eventually give in and eat. I do hope his leg is alright and that he is better soon.

I think we are going to try the tough love route tomorrow when I go to work. Since I don't leave until almost 3:00pm. I will feed him when I wake up, feed him before I leave, and leave only raw when I'm gone. Feed him when I get back. Game over, Willy

My new sweater came in the mail (except I'm not home). Mines purple. I'm never ever ever taking it off! I'll be sure Willy & Bear help me model it tonight

Haha the sweater, love it! I so need some type of ferret shirt, just never got around to ordering one. Where did you get that one from?

Etsy - Bluebeard Studio. Comes in grey, purple, and I think black. Also comes in a T-shirt, or a tank top... But when I think of my wee ones, I think of a comfy sweater

Looks like I'll be ferret-clothes shopping, lol. Sweater makes sense, fuzzers like to crawl in and out of the sleeves, it doubles as a shirt and a toy (giggle)

Doesn't everything double as a toy for ferrets? Cardboard boxes, plastic bags (with supervision), the broom, the vacuum... Everything is a toy if you think like a ferret

Yep! Like my Marcie is completely obsessed with shoes, she would spend hours stashing a pile of shoes if I let her. They're so weird, but that's why I love them, haha. I've always been kind of jealous of how ferrets are so simple yet so extravagant at the same time, they can be entertained by something as frivolous as a plastic bag, yet they amaze me every day at how they each are so unique, so different from one another. They sure are something else.

So, I was reading a HFF document (the FAQ or the why make the switch doc) and I was reading that ferrets raw fed ferrets don't need food available to "graze". Bear eats a lot in the morning, a lot at night, but nothing during the interim. I leave her a little overnight, can I also only leave her a little between brekkie & dinner? Willy's vet appointment was moved until next Tuesday (one week since he hurt his paw). Yesterday he held it up all day, wouldn't use it at all. Today he stands on it (carefully) while he eats or potties. Still on cage rest, and gets a fifth of a baby aspirin/day, but the vet doubts it broken, but sprained. What can I do with wee Willy while we wait for his paw to heal? I took the hammocks out of the cage because I don't want him climbing, but he must be bored. Willy went Sunday - Tuesday without any kibble. He got kibble yesterday because I was gone all day, and wasn't sure about the tough love yet. Hopefully today marks day #1 of no kibble for him. He isn't excited about the soup

Bear eats a lot in the morning, a lot at night, but nothing during the interim. I leave her a little overnight, can I also only leave her a little between brekkie & dinner? It's true that healthy raw fed ferrets do not need to graze, some like to though and they rarely over eat so there is no harm in leaving a bit out in case she decides a snack is good sometimes.

It would give him activity but not weight bearing. Tagging Heather Sherry katt and unclejoe here for more expericanced answers.Willy went Sunday - Tuesday without any kibble. Raw holds them for much longer than kibble, so most ferrets don't need to graze throughout the day, but it's a good idea to leave a little something out just in case they do get hungry.
I second FireAngel's idea of water therapy, do you know if Willy likes to play in water? If so, you could let him do some swimming. If not, you could pick him up and carry him around like outside on a walk. Let him get some fresh air, sniff around. If you go to the store you could maybe bring him for the ride.

Bear has a healthy appetite, and ate lots of chunky muscle meat meal. She was waiting for me again when I got home from work. She was putty in my arms, while I gave her a good head rubbin'. Willy didn't eat any soup when I was gone BUT when I got home & woke him he gobbled down quite a bit. He is a sad fuzzy though, and doesn't understand why he is in prison (cage rest). He is using his paw a little more, much like a hooman would after an ankle sprain; a little more pressure each day. But he says "why mumsy? Why am I stuck in a cage?"

Aww look at that cute face of his. At least he is eating more soupie. Poor bubby, don't you wish sometimes you could just explain to them why we have to do the things that we do sometimes? I remember when Caillou had a stomach bleed, I had to give him triple therapy, and ones of the meds (Metronidazole) was absolutely disgusting, it took all of my power to get it into him, and he had to go back and forth to the vets (which he hates), blood work, etc. I wish I could've told him why, he just didn't understand. But that is the amazing thing about ferrets, you can do all of that to them, and they will still crawl into your lap for cuddles that same day.

OMG that face is enough to make me just want to do anything he wants. It's so hard to be a good momma sometimes when all you want to do is spoil them!
