This time they admitted ignorance about ferrets, but last time they had no problem taking money and not mentioning it.

Do you have a BG monitor? If not you need to pick one up. This little one sounds like she has had a seizure. Good chance it is from insulinoma but not definite. You need to get one and take it to the vet with your little one to calibrate it. That way you know how much yours is off. She will need blood work particularly BG, and quite likely preda

Until you can get to the vet, which you need to do: If you see those behaviors again, give her a little corn syrup or honey. If it is a sugar crash she should respond within a few minutes. This is not a cure, but emergency treatment. The long-term treatment is prednisolone, which you have to get prescribed by a vet, based on the blood glucose test. It's not expensive, tho. Green pee is another, possibly separate concern. It could indicate bladder/kidney infection. You have some ferret experience, which will come in handy with her. We're lucky that one of our local emergency vets is good with ferrets and only charges an extra $10 for after hours visits. Best wishes. PLease keep us updated.

Sending all my best Well Wishes to your girl. It sounds like insulinoma, but what does she eat? Did the vet look inside her mouth, could something be caught in her throat or teeth?
I had a great experience with my Roamy and Juliet who came from Craigslist. Once I got home and realized they had no papers, I called the previous ferrent and the same thing happened to me. No response. People make me crazy sometimes.

Rocket passed away.
She ate willingly at 8am, and her litter box had poop in it. I had her out at 10am to play with Bear & Trixie. She toddled around for 30 minutes before going back to bed. At noon I went to feed her and she was gone.
I called the ferret vet at 8am, and even after everything I said Rocket was going through, they booked me for 3pm. She was eating, drinking, and pooping so it wasn't an emergency. I even insisted with the women that ferrets go 60 to 0 in nothing flat, but that was the first available slot.
I never heard a peep from her after she went to bed.

Thank you. I hope it was peaceful, as she went in her sleep.
I wish more ER vets were familiar with ferrets. I certainly will make sure ferrets are in my repertoire when I go to vet school.

Thank you everyone for the help with Rocket. It's been tough, I spent the day with Trixie (who was bonded to Rocket since they were kits) but she doesn't seem to grieve Rocket's absence, or even notice she is missing.

I'm sorry. I will light a travelling candle for your little girl. It sounds like she only stayed around long enough to make sure her bonded mate was taken care of and in a good place. Watch Trixie closely, eating less and sleeping more. She may have realized her friend was dying and has already accepted the loss. Sometimes it takes a few days for the loss to sink in...rather like people. I find some RR in their water helps them get over the rough patches. ciao

I'm so sorry. All I can say is you did more than her previous owner. Insulinoma does not develop overnight The signs may appear suddenly, but I can guarantee you that hers showed before. I'm sorry for her that her ex owner decided to get rid of her because she got sick, and I'm sorry that you didn't have time to get to know her and help her. DIP Little Rocket. Look up my Rocket at The Bridge. He knows how to have a good time and relax.

Thank you everyone.
It's so heart breaking that people get rid of animals when they are sick- especially when they don't say anything. If he had said she needed a vet I would've brought her to one same day. My dog has to go Thursday because she is incontinent, and I was going to take them in all together.
When I brought Trixie & Rocket home, Trixie immediately took to Bear. They are more the same speed, Trixie is 7 years young. I also rotated them through some isolated cage time to make sure everyone was eating/drinking/potty. Hopefully Trixie having Bear helps.
Again, thank you everyone! It's been rough, and I know very few ferret people in my life - they just don't understand ferret love.
