Yeah, I can order Duck necks next time. And I will stock up on “true” bone in meals, when I´ve emptied the freezer a bit. We own a freezer with 5 drawers, 3 of them are filled with ferret stuff… My partner isn´t amused about that… ;-) But I had more than 1 full month prepared in advance. It will take some time to reduce it.
My plan is frankenprey mixing with some whole prey. Going on whole prey completely is too expensive for me. One adult mice cost 1,12 $ over here. So every meal cost about 9 $, depending on the appetite of my two boys. When they´re fully grown (and eat less) I think I will add some more WP to their diet. For now I will throw in WP occasionally.

That's great! When I get home later I'll give you another little quizz. We will get your status changed pretty soon I'll bet!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post a quiz for you last night but here it is! 1.) are cooked bones safe to feed a ferret and why or why not? 2.) how long is a ferrets digestive time? 3.) is dark or white meat a better choice and why?

No problem, I visited my parents over the weekend, so I didn't spend a lot time on the Internet.
1) Cooked bones aren't safe because they could splinter and cause damage.
2) About 3h.
3) Dark meat is better because it's richer in nutrition.

Junior weigh 1.336 grams today. He's looking leaner, I think he grew and the weigh spreads a bit. Dexter weigh 1.117 grams today. He's looking good, neck is healing.

In two weeks time I will place the next order.
What's in my basket: Bone in: -duck necks -chicken necks -poultry necks -chicken carcass -rabbit carcass -rabbit rib cage -rabbit legs -chicken drumsticks -chicken wings
Grinds (only 2-3 meals each week) because the boys loving it): -rabbit carcass -beef -chicken carcass
I will stick with the beef hearts and organs but add chicken to get them used to another option.
I've ordered a dryer to make my own jerky for the kits. I'm planning to dry hearts, small strips of meat for them to give it as treats. I hope they'll like it...

That looks like a great order! If you can get quails they would be great also. I would definitely try to keep the grinds to 2 meals a week max. Those will make great treats!

Quails are a bit hart to get. We have to get to a big wholesaler. But they will get onto the menu soon.

I started making my own healthy ferret threats. Bought a drying machine and the first batch of chicken hearts is in the making :-)

Looks awesome! I'm sure they will love them! Here's another quiz for you, 1.) Does freezing degrade taurine? 2.) List 3 organs aside from liver. 3.) What is a healthy diet item that can be used for hairballs, and his often should you give it? I'm sure you will breeze through these just like the others!

Will get back to the quiz a bit later, I'm on the run :-) The dried snacks seems to be ready after 12h... I let them sit to cool probably and will check the quality after my shift. I hope, the boys will love them...

Usually once a week per ferret. While shedding season you can give 2 eggs per week/ferret. ATB :-)
