That's great news, you found hearts and tongue. Pepper, that's a new one. Keep an eye out on her. I'm not sure about that tiny piece of plastic. I'm going to tag Heather Do you have any pumpkin, in case Heather thinks you should begin a blockage protocol?

I'm going to tag Heather Do you have any pumpkin, in case Heather thinks you should begin a blockage protocol? No, I don't have any pumpkin, do you just use canned? Since it is out of season. This is the remains of it aside from some of the paper. The plastic film is extremely thin, most of it is intact but you can see a bit of the edges are chewed off. Here is the actual size.

Is the plastic film gone? or is most or all of it still there? How big of a piece of plastic are we talking about?..is it cellophane type? Is it large enough to cause issues? Has there been any issues with smaller stools, gagging or vomiting? ciao

Ah, that answers my questions. Watch her. I don't think you will have problems but I would watch her closely ciao

Has there been any issues with smaller stools, gagging or vomiting? ciao That pic is the film that was inside the packet, most of it is there. I added an actual size to give you an idea. It is thinner than typical cellophane wrap, so thin I would compare it to skin that peels off from sunburn. She's fine atm. Sleeping soundly.

I keep her room very clean and no trash on the floor, she must of found that underneath the dresser while I was fine tuning my ferret proofing and she stashed it where I didn't see it. Don't see anything else so she should be fine. I had a ferret die from a blockage years ago, when I see something like that it makes my heart jump

That's great you have found a place for hearts etc and isn't it oddly satisfiying to hear them crunching bone?! Hope she's ok from the pepper, bad Nei! Peppers not for fuzzies! Wonder if she sneezed a lot while she was chewing it, silly beastie.

Wonder if she sneezed a lot while she was chewing it, silly beastie. It is! I love the satisfaction that she is getting the right nutrition. I've felt bad with previous ferrets because they were all kibble fed and I always wondered that the ones that had problems would of not had them if they were on raw. I used to love just listening to them eat kibble. I would keep their food and water by me while I worked and their chewing was my relaxation music lol. She is an odd one, I had to play keep-away for a few hours this afternoon when I patched up the hole in my wall with some Speckle. She kept going to it and trying to put her nose in it to get high (there was glue/paint fumes coming from it). She thought it was a game and every time I would catch her trying to go to it she would war dance, dook and try again. Eventually she gave up and went to sleep, but she was determined.

That's too funny about the smell. Ferrets are definitely tunnel visioned when they want to do something they keep at it until they do it! My girl is Missy is my trouble maker and wicked focused one. Sir is my gentleman, Belle is the special one (she's deaf and I'm pretty sure has at ouch of wardenbergs syndrome also) and now there's George he's an energetic playful kit who we're still getting to know but I'm pretty sure is going to give Missy a run for her money.

Hopefully, you dodged a bullet with that plastic. I simply can't imagine her eating a bunch of pepper. Pepper is tiny though, maybe it's all sprinkled in the carpet and she went for the crackle of the paper.
Females are so persistent. I can see her scampering around and trying to get right in the middle of your project. Juliet will get something in her mind and keep at it, for a good 15 minutes or more. The boys give up after a few minutes and move on to other mischief.

She ate some last night while I was sleeping, didn't see her eat anything this morning though. She pooped this morning but I didn't see any paper or plastic in it. Going right now to get an oil change and buy some hearts and see if I can find some beef with nice chewey bones. Only thing I can think of is like baby back ribs because the ends are soft and chewey (I love to eat the rib ends and marrow myself

If you look around, you might find Marrow. It will be in bones that are sliced across and then you can scoop out the marrow. The bones will be too tough for Nei, but she can play with the bones and work on getting the marrow out. They're usually inexpensive also.

Can't wait to see how it goes for you! I know I'm excited over here because our new baby is chomping on a duck neck, I had to make sure he got some in his mouth first but once he got It , it was over he wanted to take it and hide so I let him. He's under his ladder chomping happily!

I didn't see any, so I bought a rack of ribs. Couldn't break the bones, tried but I had to stop because I think I would of broken the countertop first . I just got done chopping up and bagging the beef heart, chicken liver, chicken gizzards and ribs. I think she is good to go now. Going to feed her the beef hearts this evening so it'll be easy to remember hearts every Monday. I also bought her a new pet bed. Found one just her size and it has a high back so it looks very comfortable. I replaced her satin sheets with it and it looks like she is happier sleeping under it lol.

July 7th: Nei ate most of the beef heart I gave her last night and was welcomed with lots of liver colored poops. I gave her chicken this morning which she wasn't too happy about but then, after playing, she ate some chunks and gnawed on one of the two 2" thigh cutlets I added.
I'm trying to introduce her to larger chunks with the bone, although she has worked on them, she prefers to stash them out of the way to get to the smaller, more easily manageable pieces. I have been placing the pieces back into the dish so they can stay moist and so far I haven't been given a hiss of protest for doing so. Tonight I will give her first serving of Gizzards and see how she takes to them. I know Gizzards are tough and when I first introduced her to beef heart, even though she loves beef she was at first reluctant because of the heart's toughness.
