If they like it and go to sleep in it --then , in my opinion it must be just right. Also, if they use every piece, then keep it in there.

Looks comfy, cozy and great for the amount of time they are actually in it, seems pretty perfect for beasties that only sleep there! Hehe
I was actually going to say it looks comfy! I agree. If it ain't broke, no reason to fix it. Our ferret nation is bigger, but we have 7 sleeping in it sometimes, and pretty much the same set up.

I know this cage type. It's a royal pain to clean and set up. The doors are too small but as your guys don't spend a lot of time in it it's probably an ok sleep space. I would be tempted to put a cover on it so that they have a dark place to curl up and sleep in. Just better for their health. I had one similar to that set up in the corner of the house for the guys to sleep in. Finally, tossed it in frustration after trying to clean it up ciao
