Her discharge changed back to normal white-yellowish, and since she eats normally and has no fever we decided to let her until tommorow/monday. If everything is ok, monday we will go to a vet who is an imagist to perfom an ultrasonography, as we weren't able to see clearly kits ( as we have the ecograph for dogs and cats and not small animals like ferrets )
Hi it sounds to me like your facing either a phantom or your close to a due date lol its her secret and she is not ready to tell you yet lol good luck with your little girl keep us updated take care bye for now Bev
wow the first jill to get a pregnancy test done via blood ! ( brain ticking over here maybe we could design a ferret pregnancy wand lol ) good luck with your baby let us know how things work out take care bye for now Bev
I just wonder if it would work. It tests for one hormone only present in pregnant women. I have no Idea if a preggers jill would produce a hormone close enough to show +. Breeders? Anyone willing to try it?
lol The next jill I breed I will try it uncle joe lol you know out of our madness we may come up with an idea that could save a lot of breeders the worry and cost of scans ! lol pity the animal industry cant jump on the band wagon and produce one ! after all a ferret test would work for a cat too ! lol I can just see my jills now ha ha ha come on dear be a darling and pee on this for mommy lol take care bye for now Bev
I would have thought that even if your could test to see if they have any pregnancy hormones in their urine (or even blood) would it not be the same for any false pregnancies? I suppose a blood test would give an actual number, where as a 'wand' type would just be one line or two... Would still be pretty great, if you can get your ferret to pee on it...

It would be simple enough to get a ferret to pee on a stick. Just tell them that the stick is not for peeing. Then leave it lying around. It will get wet quite quickly. little 's.
simple enough. Too funny, because it's too true. (headwall) To get pee or poop samples, I isolate the fert and put in a clean litter box with no litter. Unless looking for protein in urine, it doesn't matter much if they mix. Home urine test strips only test for a few values. The pregnancy hormone would not be present if there was no pregnancy or falsie. I have to research whether it's present in phantoms, but it wouldn't surprise me. in which case my scheme is invalid. What is the ratio of false positives for pregnancy tests? False positives due to defective test kits are pretty rare, but failure to accurately follow directions, especially timing, not so rare. Also, in humans, at least, up to 25% of pregnancies end up in early miscarriages, or "chemical pregnancies." These could show as positive at first, if enough hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)) was present.
