So, my little wisp found a sticky trap and got very stuck. I did manage to free her after a very tough struggle with her and the trap. The more I got her unstuck, the more she wiggled and got stuck worse. Finally after a bite and tearing the trap apart so she couldn't keep getting restuck, I now have a mess to clean up and a very sticky ferret. Any ideas on how to remove the glue from her fur? She is absolutely terrified from the ordeal and I am somewhat as well, because I didn't even know that the trap was there. My landlord must have apparently put them down without my knowledge.

You can try using vegetable oil. I'm not sure if it will work or not but it is a suggested course of action. I'm not sure but you could possibly try other food based oils as well. Good luck. Hopefully someone else will chime in. The oil supposedly can help you release any pets and or humans from the adhesive on the sticky trap. Keep us updated.

You may have to cut it out of her fur. I'm sure it won't be healthy for her to ingest when she tries to groom herself.

Poor little thing. I'd be very unhappy with my landlord. I found this holistic site that talks about several ways to remove glue. I hope it helps: homeguides.sfgate.com/natural-cleaner-removing-sticker-goop-79395.htmlDo you have any Bach's rescue remedy. It may ease her stress. If you don't, it's a good thing for your ferret emergency kit and can be ordered online.

Thanks everyone. I kinda had to cut some of her hair off in blotches so I just had to shave her down. Bless her heart, she looks like a plucked bird. I called my landlord and went off about this. Thank goodness it was just a sticky trap instead of poison or worse. It would have been nice of them to let me know that they put those traps down before hand. Poor wisp and I both are traumatized by this and it could have all been avoided. That's what makes me so mad about it. She bit me pretty good, but it wasn't her fault. I am just glad that she seems to have calmed down now. Poor little girl.

No female welcomes an unwanted and unflattering haircut. Just explain to her, that it's the latest style and she looks lovely. What the heck was your landlord doing in your home with out prior notice. That's just not acceptable. I'm glad you told him that you weren't happy. :slap:

Around here, those tenants/landlord laws aren't really followed. That's one of the reasons I am so ready to get out of here, but my move has been put on hold for a few days.I was ssupposed to be moving this weekend, but weather isn't on my side, so it's been postponed until next week or weekend. And, yeah, she wasn't too fond of the clippers or the new look. I'm not either. I bought her a couple of new toys to try and make up for it all. I feel so guilty, because I should have put her in the bathroom as usual while I clean her cage, but instead I just let her run around downstairs. (Where her cage is)
