no blood workup. just BG test. I will leave that for the more ferret knowledgeable vet on Thursday. This morning she was better than normal, she was running around and not wobbly. I have not tested Her BG yet since yesterday before the vet visit. here are the pictures of her neck

OMG! That does look bad. How do you scruff that hard to cause hair loss? (Obviously not talking about you) Even my thinning adrenal boys hair doesn't fall out like that. At least be grateful this isn't your normal vet but it does stink that if you have an emergency this might be your only option.

We scruffed her before the vet visit to take her BG. We did not have any hair come off of her.
They said they don't know why her hair fell out, they said they were very gentle with her.
I am not buying it.

Woah, there is no way that "just happened" during normal handling. It almost looks like they shaved the fur off and applied pincers or something, as if they started a procedure on the wrong animal. That is really not right. I hope there is something you can do about it. At the very least give them a bad online review? That doesn't sound like much but people read those, and it may get the attention of the staff.
I'm glad Alley found her way to you, poor thing. She's had a rough time.

No way that was from a scruff. It still looks like they shaved and tried to take blood to me. My guess is there was a miss-communication and the vet tech thought they were taking a blood sample instead of just a prick for a BG test.

If they shaved there would be stubble. Is is completely smooth skin. No razer burn redness, when the vet tech brought her in I could see clumps of hair on her shirt coming off of Alley.
The vet said that she is thinking that she may be adrenal and that is why her hair was coming off. I gave the existing hair in the area a tug and it is firmly rooted.
I have no Idea. she will be seeing the Ferret vet on Friday evening. We will see what she has to say.

I would be furious...as in over the top. Someone has no clue about what they were doing and even if the ferret is adrenal the fur wouldn't be coming out like that and....who's going to account for the gash on her neck. I would be demanding to know what happened and why. ciao

I have seen fur come out in clumps. Curly went almost bald in a couple weeks. The mark on the neck, tho...who knows. ferts get into all kinds of trouble. Any other signs of adrenal, like swollen lady parts? At least she has you now.

I tend to bruise really easily, and it definitely looks like my skin does when I get pinched by someone's nails, or accidentally pinch my skin with tweezers. The poor thing must've been terrified

shes been through alot.
I am happy to say that now on medication, her appetite has picked up, she is actually running around the house without wobbling, she is playing I got a feather cat teaser toy out and she was batting at it and playing with it.
She just needed some meds. I am keeping soup available to her at all times. When she is running around she will come by the soup plate and have a few laps of soup and then run off again.
I am using the smallest dosage I can measure. all they had were tablets, they cut them into 1/8th and I am cutting those in half. I am giving her 2 doses a day.
this is just to get us by until she sees the vet on friday. then hopefully we will get compounded liquid.
I have not tested her BG yet. I probably should just to get an idea of how good the meds are working. I know she starts staggering at 40

All my best well wishes to Alley. I simply cannot understand what they might have done at the Vet's. I can understand that I would not be going back there.
