Are you feeding them in their cage or do they get to eat other places? I'm asking out of curiousity as to where Missy will stash stuff. Generally, if they leave some on the plate and stash stuff, they are full. It's hard to tell with babies. They may want and need to eat more than twice a day. Mine are free roam (inside the house) and I get to do stash hunts everyday. I've learned everyone's favorite spots, like Wynstan loves to put his stashes in his daddy's shoes and in his room. (he has decided the third bedroom is his). msav set up a ferret cam for when he was at work. It was so much fun to watch.

Occasionally I'll feed them out of it but only for a little bit and then I will put it in the cage. They are allowed playtime in my bathroom. It's an easily cleaned area and ferret proof and a decent size. Today was the first I noticed her stash anything other then a toy. The food in the cage she stashed in their new crinkle hammock and outside of the cage they stash under the unit of drawers with their supplies in it.

I feed mine inside the cage as well, if I don't Marcie takes every single piece of meat she gets and stashes it under the cage. I have the top and bottom level of their cage separated and the top is their feeding den. Then they get about 8-9 hours or more outside of their cage every day. Occasionally Marcie will try and stash a piece of meat inside the cage, if I pick her up she will swallow it but if the pieces are bigger than she is used to she will try and stash.

Tonight they are getting the lamb mix. There is no water in it and I chopped the liver and heart pieces really, really small. I'm hoping they eat it without any bribery of ferretone but I won't know until I talk to the hubby tomorrow how they did. I hate that they have to get something new without me but I have no other choice right now. I just have to trust the hubby to do it right hehe. I'm sure it will be fine. Monday I'm going to have to do a major set up of food for them for the week. They will have the last bit of the lamb Monday morning and I won't have anything else for them but the evil kibble if I don't.

Woohoooo hubby sent me a pic of Missy eating the ground lamb mix, Sir has not eaten it yet but he often lets her eat first then eats after. He's such a genteleman! I'm a proud momma right now. I think I'll get brave when I do shopping again and start them on some chicken wings next week after I try the beef mix. They are definitely progressing well as far as the texture and sizes of meats go. I will probably use the cleaver and chop up the wings at first though. Wish I could upload the pic of her eating but it's on my phone.

hope it's okay that I'm still posting here even though I officially have a mentor now but I had to share this little bit of funny. So I have not actually been home since Friday at 3pm and they started on lamb last night. Hubby said they ate a bit of it over night about 1.5 oz out of 5. He gave them the same for breakfast this morning and when I got home at 6:30 tonight I saw Sir eating from the bowl and I was happy until hubby said he added kibble to it! I just about flipped. Turns out though he only put the kibble in the bowl a little while before that and they had eaten all of the lamb before that. He thought he was doing good by not letting them be out of food. I sort of frantically told him no bad ferrent! Lol I explained that he could have just given them the portion I had set up for their dinner tonight and to never give them kibble again. I took the kibble away and gave them their dinner (which was still mostly frozen btw).
