1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets? Facebook
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to. Be sure to include if you are interested in feeding whole prey (live or frozen-thawed) and if you are wanting to FULLY switch to a natural diet or PARTIALLY. If you are unsure what kind of diet you want to put your ferrets on, please express that and we can help you find the best type of natural diet for your ferret. I would like to get to a Frankenprey diet. Afraid I am too squeamish to do a whole prey diet.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet? I am interested in getting my babies as healthy as possible for the longest time possible. I plan to rescue ferrets forever, and not knowing where they come, I want them to be as long lived as I can. I am dealing with one of my little guys who has adrineal, and I wish I had switched him over sooner ... I want my babies to be happy. And it is cheaper!
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switchng your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as commited. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment? My babies are my whole life. I would do anything for them!
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for? I currently have 5 furbabies. Jake is 6 male. I have had him for almost 2 years. He has been diagnosed with Adrenal, and is slightly underweight because of it. Leon(m) and Claire(f) are both about 4 we have had them about 3 years. No known health problems, and both good weight. Peach(f) and Daisy(f) are almost 2. I have had them for less than a month. No known health problems, and both good health weight.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc) Do they already eat some form of soup? Feed them Evo Ferret, Totally Ferret, and Zupreem. They also get supplemented a small amount of our cats food (California Naturals and Purina Naturals). They get egg about twice a week and occasionally some form of meat as a treat. I have tried ground turkey (which they've loved) and chicken wings (but woudn't eat the bone). They didn't care for the liver ... They also get some coconut oil (VERY little)
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened? Haven't tried a full switch, but have given them meat treats. Have not tried with my new girls.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share? I am going to be making them soupie and trying to feed them off of this until I can figure out how to either get them to eat bone or further guidance here.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer? I can get on the computer most days for at least 40 minutes. I do also have complete access to this forum through my phone!
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible). holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/17515/meet-buisness?page=1#scrollTo=247335
11. Have you met the requirements for this program? Are you at least 18 years of age? Do you have your scale, a place to access meats, hearts, livers, etc? Getting a scale by the end of the week (Ozeri Pronto Digital Multifunction Kitchen and Food Scale), I have at least two places to get everything that I need for everything meat related! And defiantly 18!
EDIT!!!!: I have successfully transferred them onto soupie! YAY!
