Two proteins (rabbit and lamb) for now is fine until Freddy is stabilized. After we get him feeling good again and back to eating small chunks, we will try for a third protein. I think fish will be a good option, and hopefully it will agree with him!
You just need to be strong and keep pushing him towards larger chunks and bone. It's okay to slip a little now and again, as long as you keep pushing towards the finish line!

Hi, you WILL get there! Can you access bonemeal? Human grade only. Also, not sure if you are able to do whole prey like mice? That would be an excellent addition. And I agree, avoid all poultry and beef. Other options(given pork is out) wold be lamb, goat, rabbit, mice, guinea pig, kangaroo, fish(of all kinds), elk, venison, etc. You can give a few meals of commercial raw a week as well, depending on whether or not you can access it. But even with his restrictions, this is VERY doable

Freddy is nice and fluffy! I love ferret winter coats.
I see from the picture that he is back to eating small chunks, which is fantastic! Have you tried reintroducing bone-in rabbit?

I can't get any fresh venison just frozen,is it ok to take that, I will somehow chop that into pieces for his meal, would that be ok, and lamb and goat is this considered as the same protein or different?

Frozen is definitely fine. Venison is a great option. I always chop of my meat into meal portions and freeze ahead of time. Goat and lamb are different proteins Also, time for a little quiz! This one is liver themed 1. How much liver should one ferret get in one week? 2. If a ferret eats 28 ounces of food in one week, how much liver does he get? 3. What main vitamin is found in Liver? 4. Can a ferret have too much liver?

Hey, I love your quizzes 1. Liver is on organ meat and one ferret should get 10% of organs/liver in one week 2.I usually mix liver with another organ, kidneys, lungs etc.and in one week my ferret get aprox from 1.4. Oz to 2 oz of liver 3.Vitamin A is the main vitamin in liver 4.If fed with too much liver ferret can get Vitamin A toxicity. In raw feeding the most important thing is balans of bones, meat, organs in their meals.

I have ribs that are long from 0,20 inches to 0,4 in, and some that I left whole size. since I chopped rabbit before you told me for the trick with ribs now I can wait until I get new rabbit. I have left whole rabbit legs, can I give him that bone on the same way like I am giving him whole ribs,or is that bone too big and to hard for the beginning?
