I wonder if that one will be extra tasty? Is that possibly some kind of body defect or will some rats simply gorge on food if it's always available?

pretty much. I think the tan one gave birth a few days ago. so she may not be.

Don't worry raynebc, I had the same thought! They have mice like that, they use the mutation to study obesity. That's how they figured out the leptin deficiency issue. en.wikipedia.org/?title=Ob/ob_mouseNow I want to see a pregnant ob/ob mouse. It's a recessive gene so the mother has to have it.

the smaller one popped last night, about 25 babies. still waiting on the larger one to pop
