Well, everyone came out today playful and energetic. Pretty standard on that side.
Not very many poops since they barely ate. Most looked a weird but nothing worrisome. Some pinkish tone which I am attributing to the liver.
Gave them fresh soup at bedtime. No Ferretone. They are NOT pleased.
Edit - someone(s) nearly finished off one of the dishes.. That would be 2 oz. We will see how it looks in the morning.
One of the cats ate some of the soup I put out during playtime. I think he likes it!

Hehe, you should switch your cat to raw - cats are carnivores too!

We've thought about it definitely. He responds very well when we offer it to him. The other two, not so much. :B

Using soup is a good way to get a cat to switch over. They need taurine just like ferrets. I think they need less bone though.
Awesome. When you can sit down with them, put aside an hour. Take an hour to grab them and feed them. Grab one and put a little bit of soup on the lips. See if they want to eat of the plate. I would continue as long as your patience allows or until food runs out. This will get them used to the taste. You can just grab whoever runs by and Dan and let go. You'll start to notice who eats the food more often so you can learn who is eating what more often.

Had to give them kibble this morning as I was in a rush and their soup cubes weren't thawed. They ate most of it and this evening they were PUMPED. UP. Lots of activity. They are trying to trick me. I'm not falling for it. Soup tonight. I put some out at playtime in case they wanted a snack. Ham (the cat) at most of it.. and he's finishing it off as I type this. That's fine since I don't think they were hungry anyway. I'll give them 3-4 ounces at bedtime and see how that goes. In the morning they'll get a new bowl since I have soup ready to go in the fridge already. Nothing much more to report. Hopefully I can get in the soup groove soon so I can cut kibble OUT.

You can thaw soup cubes by putting them in a bag and running under lukewarm water. Last night my organ meal wasn't very thawed even though I did remember to take it out, and I cut it into small pieces and laid along the bottom of a tupperware container, which I floated on a larger container of hot water - thawed in minutes.

Something that really made a difference for us: making the soup tepid. Maisie wouldn't touch anything cold. I put the soup baggies in a jar of warm water and close the lid.
And every so often I still have to start her off with finger-feeding. Just one or two dabs on the mouth. It's like she's not convinced it's food unless I show her.
Keep it up, you're doing great!

Celene I normally would have used that thawing method, but I was in a major straight-out-of-bed-and-go-to-work emergency haha. I'll get better at remembering in advance.. and getting up 5 minutes earlier! Thanks Blue, I've thought about that. We'll give it a shot. Last night I did resort to ferretone - just a little - to get them started. Porkchop and Raising CHOWED DOWN like crazy. I'm going to try the finger-feeding method tonight. Thanks everyone!

You can give them frozen meals too. It's fun for them to change it up every now and then. Granted, that is a little less applicable when you are still fighting just to get them to even recognize soup as food as edible in the non-frozen form. (giggle) Just something to keep in mind in general though.

I think frozen/super cold might be appealing in the summer. We are in Arizona

Ohh I've been wanting to try pinkies. I think they would go bonkers if they got to play with it!

I would try just small feeder mice. Much better nutritional value than pinkie mice. Also pinkie mice are really small. Much more entertaining to have to work for a meal.

Ugh ugh ugh. Just let the kids out for playtime. The soup from this morning has not been touched at ALL. And for the first time ever, they dug up one of the litter boxes. >
