I got Lyli just over a week ago. She seems like she has lost weight now dont get me wromg she was thin previously but seemed heavier. With 4 ferrets Its hard to tell poops apart and whos eatting what and how often. Should I seperate her? If I do that she may stop eatting from being alone.
should I seperate her for a few hours and see what she eats and poops like. Someone has nasty poop but not sure who. I have seen her drink and eat. Since I brought her home. I tried to give her some Duck soup with ferretvite but she only licked a bit. I tried from a bowl, spoon and finger. She licks a bit then starts licking her chest after everytime she licks up some of the food. Its wierd. She seems more lethargic. She was laying on me a few minutes ago and litterally started rubbing her head all over my hands them prceeded to try to bite my fingers and hand. When I moved my fingers to type on my phone she followed them and tried to bite again but got my phone instead. Thats not like her.
Someone help me. Im working tonight amd all weekend. I work at a hospital as a nurses aid if I call off again I can be fired. Per my supervisor. I cannot get her to a vet right away. Im worried.
I dont think she is grinding her teeth and I just gave her a bath I noticed after I dried her she was loosing hair but it may have been from the bath. No bald spots. I did hear her like the day after I got her tring to vomit just a few times. Nothing came up and she had been eating I thought it may have been the kibble as she was on cat food when I got her. No vomiting or trying since then.

She could have a hairball if she was hacking/trying to vomit. When did all of this start? What are her poops like? And did you get her from a petstore? We need more info, but if it's a hairball giving her a whipped up raw egg will help. If she's from a petstore or even if she's just new she could very likely have ECE which would explain nasty poops (runny/green, usually green but not all cases of ECE cause green poops), the lethargy, loos of appetite and weight loss. Honestly from her symptoms she needs to see a Vet, sounds like she brought something in, if you jut got her last week, did she come with other ferrets? If it's ECE that's highly contagious and you'd need to treat all of them probably. Diagnosis is a fecal test, and treatment is antibiotics.

I have her serperate now so I can tell her poop from the others. She came with others they are Eating fine amd very active. the last owner fed her crappy cat food. Said thats what they liked. I have ferretlax for hairballs. Ill give her some of that. Hopefully she will poop soon so I know. When you have 4 its hard to tell poops apart. They lady that had them took horrible care of them.

No ferretlax, that stuff is Insulinoma in a tube, full of sugar and preservatives and will make her poop worse. Give her some raw whipped up egg/yolk, syringe it if you need to, don't give her all of it as it may mess with her tummy.
How old is she? Ferrets can be carriers of ECE and not show any symptoms, what color have the weird poops been?

.......the dreaded "green diarrhea" is only the first and by far the lesser sign. Be aware that ferrets may get greenish diarrhea from any number of intestinal upsets. The specific diarrhea associated with ECE is a foul-smelling, neon green. It normally only lasts 2-4 days. Weak or older animals may become badly dehydrated.....from ferret association of Connecticut
That is the diarrhea will last those amount of days, not the virus.
The rubbing on you and trying to bite sounds as if she is really playing as difficult as that seems. Ferrets have a play bite---just like puppies. And, since you have had her only a week or so----you probably don't know her personality as yet.
Sorry about the awful food given to her, and glad a caring person has got her now.

This is a photo of her poop just a minute ago. She has never bitten at me before. Im just nervous because the last ferret I had that bite. Nearly tore the tip of my finger off. Latched on and shuck my finger. Bood everywhere it took me forever to get him to lwt go. No she hasnt done that but I dont really want to find out just what kind of a bite she has. I mean she bite and didnt want to let go once thats abput as close to a bad bit I want to get. My other 2 out of 3 ferrets playbite and that im ok with as they let go and bite and let go and bite. its not that bad.

You are in a difficult situation. You've got both work and a weekend facing you. I always believe we need to trust our instincts. Are her paws, ears and nose pink? She has been eating, and I know you heard her try to vomit. Sometimes, when they are hungry, they eat too fast and then vomit. You have seen her eat and drink. Maybe her new food upset her tummy, or it could be some stress from being rehomed. Even a much better situation like yours can still be a bit scarey and take them some time to settle in.
I know that you can't take her to the vet without losing your job. Would your husband be willing to take her tomorrow? Do you have a friend or maybe someone from the shelter where you got your first group?

It does not look bright green from here--but more like she has processed two different kind of foods.

Bad weather kept me stranded at a friends mear my job. My husbamd cared for them while I was gone. He works as well and is a supervisor that opens and closes his work. We both work all weekend and only 1 car. i just moved here recently and only know like 2 ppl. 1 is a nurse where I work she is my friend I stayed at her house and the other is my neighbor amd she is in Rochester for the week with her Mom. my husband doesnt pay that close attention as to whom is eatting only that he fills the bowls daily. Thats why I have her seperate right now. With both food and soup. Instead she is sleeping. She has a black nose. Her paws and eats are a pale pink. she had a bath about 2 hrs ago. She just laid there after walking around a minute. Last week she was dookin around and playing she isnt doin that the last few days.Just sleeps. The last owner said she was 2 but I cannot be sure as she didnt have any marshalls paperwork from petco where she bought her

you may want to hold off on giving ferretvite anymore. It contains syrup and there is a tendency for ferrets that r on kibble to develop insulinoma. Kibble has a high carb load, so ferretvite will just add to that.
Also, ferretone has vitamin a, which is stored in liver and is not excreted like water soluble vitamins, so u could eventually harm your ferret. They will advertise to do this and that, but it seems you picked the higher end kibble. i know you r trying to improve the ferret's health right now because it is underweight and has been fed poorly.
Maybe some others will give more input.

I would be concerned that she's got a possible ulcer? I can't help in regards to kibbles. I only know that they dehydrate very quickly and loose weight at a terrible rate when on the kibbles. I would be vetting this little one as soon as possible. ciao
