Is there a way to get rid of fleas on all my animals without using chemicals? I heard about using vinegar water but it wasn't here and seeing as other sites condone unhealthy things.
Unrelated but Chris wants to know how ferrets age: like 1 year=10 years. Or something along those lines.

for fleas I sit down and comb through their fur with a flea comb and pick off any fleas that come up on the comb and drop them into a bowl of rubbing alchol. IF you do have fleas, wash their bedding every couple days, vaccume carpets and upholstered furniture daily paying special attention to crevices and cracks

I avoid putting anything with essential oils on the cats or ferret - EOs in any form are TOXIC to them. I will however, wash everything, vacuum - and put down Diatomaceous Earth with a mask on while the pets are taken out, then let it sit for a couple hours minimum. Three days later, you can vacuum. Be sure to put it in corners, places the pets frequent, carpeting - it doesn't take very much at all.
Sometimes we will rub a tiny bit into their fur around their necks, legs, and base of the tail as well. Food-grade Diatomaceous Earth can be purchased or ordered at most local feed stores and is amazingly expensive, especially the more you buy.
For example, a 4 lb. bag cost us $12, and a 50 lb. bag cost $22.
