I tried giving MoJo some freeze-dried type treats. Stashed them and never bothered with them again I've heard people talking about re-hydrating freeze-dried? I've never dealt with freeze-dried so I know basically nothing about it. I ask because I really want to get some foraging cups for MoJo's cage, and a lot of people suggest freeze-dried treats inside, which he has no interest in How can I make them more appealing? Other types of treats that you might suggest? Thanks!

I was rehydrating freeze-dried raw food and you basically just soak it in water until it's moist. Not sure if this makes it more tasty or not but it makes it easier for them to eat. I assume people don't rehydrate the treats they hide in things, because that would get really messy. My girls really like those pure bites chicken treats: www.purebites.com/ProductsDogEng/products_chicken.htmlMaybe try putting a bit of oil on them? Or I've found that crumbling the freeze dried treats and sprinkling them on food gets the ferrets to have a taste for them.

It is a good idea having them like freeze dried, or some other option for if you have to drop them at the vet's overnight. A number of vet's will not feed raw, so that let's you send FD with them. Try sprinkling some on his food, see if he gets a taste for it. Or you could simply try some different ones. It might just be that he doesn't like what you have.

sometimes they dont reilise its food just know it smells good and they want to stash it for future play or keep the others from haveing it .. its always good to put a sample on top of there normal food first when introducing new foods it shows them its safe to eat because its in there food bowl . after that is done I always make it more tasty by putting a little olive oil on it the first couple of times I give as treats ..
I never rehydrate freeze drieds foods this way it can sit out for long periods of time and not spoil or turn to calcified rubber in stash spot I dont check or find for weeks
