We let them out to play for 1-2 hours in the morning, afternoon and evening. I was wondering should we wake them up to eat and play or just let them sleep and get them out when they are ready? I’m afraid we’re waking them up too much although they seem happy and healthy!
Sounds fine.
Mine are free roam. They come and go from their cage as they please, but a lot of responsibility comes with that. Got to be on your toes a bit more with free roamers it seems. I found my Annabelle in dishwasher when i happened to load a stray cup after the dishwasher had been turned on. The dishwasher had already threw out the tablet from door. We have well water, so it does not get hot fast like city water and i did not warm the water first--I thank the the man up stairs for letting me find her. No ferrets had been stirring that morning ---so I thought.
Someone washed their ferret in washing machine---they were devastated about it, so always pick up clothes individually or give them a shake before putting them in washing machine. Ferrets luv to bury in cloth and u can't even tell they are there sometimes.
Also,I lost my sissy outside. There were no ferrets stirring in the house, and I took an old trunk to the shed and forgot to close the storm door. When I realized the door was still open, I started checking on my ferrets. They were use to going outside with me. I looked under car and called and called her. The next thing i know she came walking up driveway. Glad the neighbor mowed his yard the day before, because I would have really stressed out as they have beagles and would have thought the worse(we have a chain link fence).
Here is an old post that may help.
