Inspired by @poncesmom's most recent post in the thread titled "overwhelmed", I think it might be a good idea to have a new sticky under the "newbie diet questions" sub-board called something along the lines of "Raw Diet - Simplified" (I'd suggest calling it "Raw for Dummies" but I don't want any newbies to feel like we're calling them dummies).
Maybe include the soupie recipe, basic frankenprey menu and/or sample menu, and probably ratios as well (some people find it easier to wrap their heads around what % of the diet should be muscle, heart, bone, etc. than number of meals) and what constitutes organ, non-weight bearing bone, etc. But contain it all within the post rather than linking to it.
And other commonly asked newbie questions (tbd). I know all this information is available in other threads and/or on other boards and there is the raw FAQ and holistic ferret files and such, but I think most newcomers start at the "newbie diet questions" board which does have posts with recommended reading, but I think for a lot of people it becomes an information overload and/or they're intimidated by the amount of literature and don't know where to begin. Also (sadly) a lot of people are too lazy to click on links.
Not that I have a problem with people posting lots of newbie questions because then they can get specific answers directed at them and start building a relationship with mentors and/or senior raw feeders, but I have a feeling there are many "silent members" out there who don't post.
Anyway, that's just an idea I had. Or maybe make a pdf "ebook" that has all this info gathered together with a table of contents and such so that all of the information is contained in a single source. I've toyed with the notion of doing it before, I just haven't had time to post about it and get permission from HFF and the authors to use their writeups on various topics.
