Daisy, my adrenal ferret with kidney failure will be crossing the bridge tonight. She has lost weight and is sleeping a lot more than normal and not really eating. We got 3 months from when she was diagnosed with kidney failure. I have been preparing my family since the day we found out and of course it is never easy. At least now she will no longer have to be in pain.

thank you both. She is a great ferret and I still can't believe that she let me do SC fluids on her so well. She never really liked being switched over to her new diet but now I can't even get her to eat her favorite stuff. Last night and today I have had to force feed her and she has wanted nothing to do it and just sleeps now. I hope Mozart will do ok as now being the only ferret. It just sucks, my daughter was really hoping to have more time.

It does suck. I've recently lost a couple of cats to kidney failure Skippy held on for 3 months and the runt held on for 8 months. I hated every stick of the sub-q's and made the same difficult decision. It's no way to live and as much as we don't want them to go we don't want them to suffer. I know my kitties are running around happy somewhere and that's what I tell myself. Now Daisy will be up there too at the pet heaven in the sky. Dooking around. Ok now I'm gonna cry. Breaks my heart.

I'm so sorry. It's good that you'll be holding her when she goes to the bridge, she'll know that she is loved to the very last. You gave her a wonderful life.

Thank you all. She went peacefully. Of course right before I was going to take her, she was eating like a horse but I knew that she was going to have more bad days than good days. Now I just need to keep Mozart busy and keep h from getting lonely

Now I just need to keep Mozart busy and keep h from getting lonely I wish there was something that I could say to ease your grief and comfort Mozart. With time, you will remember her with more smiles, then tears.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. It makes me very emotional. I lost my girl Sadie (shihtzu) on September 15, 2014 to kidney failure. I had her since she was 4 weeks old and she was 13 when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My heart is heavy as I think of Daisy, your daughter and you @techgirl. xo D.I.P sweet Daisy xo
