Do you have a small ketchup or mustard bottle? Or those trial size dishwashing detergent bottles are perfect for oil also.

That's a good idea. I'm going to look for something like that at the dollar store.

Everything went well last night. Ty and Linus both ate their food and chunks. However, they each left 1/2 oz may be they weren't that hungry, it happens. This morning did the same thing 1 oz of slivers and 2 oz of soupie. Charlie is still loving his CC. For the first time in a long time he was looking for food when he got up. I gave him his Carafate and 45 minutes later he ate all that I fed him in one sitting. I can't be happier and I could use some good news. I am going to continue giving him 1tbls every time he's up today with the goal being 6 tbls a day.

Well, that's ALL good news! I'm so glad Charlie loves his new food. Check his weight now so you'll have a baseline for when you start feeling the difference..hopefully soon!
So Ty and Linus are both doing well with their slivers. Let's try giving them a little push. Instead of 1 oz slivers/2 oz soup, switch it for their next meal and give them 2 oz slivers/1 oz soup and see what they do with that.

Yesterday was a crazy day so they just got soupie. This morning I did 2/3 slivers/chunks and 1/3 soupie. Linus ate some and Ty licked around all of the chicken that little bugger I'm leaving their dishes out for them and I'm hoping they will graze but I have my doubts. What should I do? Charlie is still loving his new food. I'm afraid to say it bc I don't want to jinx it but he looks better. I just hope it continues.

Give them the same thing tonight. If they don't eat much through the day, they should be ready for dinner. Remind me if either of them have insu. If they still don't want to eat by bedtime tonight, add a little more soup so they'll get something in their bellies for nighttime.
Are you giving Charlie straight CC or mixing it with his baby food?
I hear ya on crazy day. I was admitted to the hospital yesterday and will be here for a few days, so if you need something and can't get me, pm one of the other mentors. I'm just sitting here with nothing to do, so I should be available, but just in case.

Oh my goodness! I hope you are okay. I'll be thinking about you. I'll be fine don't worry about me just get better. Neither of them have insu. And neither has eating else anything yet. I'm hoping they are good and hungry for dinner. Charlie's is eating straight CC. No baby food.

I'll be better soon I hope. I've been battling bronchitis and then pneumonia for 2 weeks and the doctor finally got tired of seeing me and stuck me in here, lol.
Since neither of the boys have insu, there shouldn't be any danger in letting them skip a meal, but I don't want them to miss more than one. This whole process is baby steps, so if they don't eat those slivers tonight, go back to what they're happy with and we'll go a little slower.
No baby food! WooHoo! Go Charlie!

I know! He's eating again right now. He is eating more than the 6 tbl per day but he needs it so I will feed him as much as he wants. I also tracked down a distributor for CC 2 towns away and I picked up the large bag today. I'm fully stocked on CC. LOVES this stuff.... So happy Well Linus was up first and he ate it all. Chunks and everything. I did hold him but that's it. He ate on his own. I also gave him some EVOO as a treat for finishing. So happy to see some progress. Now I have to wait for Ty to get up from his nap and I just know he's going to fight me but we will see. I really hope you feel better and get home soon to your family. Hospitals are never fun. I spent some time there last week. My best friend decided to have a heart attack and he was airlifted to a trauma center. He's fine and home now but that was not a good day. It took me forever to find him. Hospitals are like mazes every floor looks the same and it's so disorientating.

Well, go Charlie and Linus! maybe Ty will surprise you and eat well too! They're just full of surprises, these little guys. I'm going to assume that Ty is going to do well also, and tell you to do the same ratio of slivers/soup in the morning. Then if they do well with that, increase the size of their slivers a tiny bit for tomorrow night.
You are right, hospitals are no fun to navigate. Fortunately, I've just been wheelchaired around and haven't had to keep track of where I am or where I'm going. And this is just a small hospital!

Well Ty is giving me a run for my patience. He didn't eat great yesterday and I gave him the same this morning and this afternoon. He did eat some, which is good, but not as much as I'd like maybe an ounce. He weighs 3 lbs so he's not starving. I am going to see if I add some baby food to it he'll eat better tonight. If not, I'll move the ratio down and I guess move slower?
Linus ate 1.6 oz of chunks mixed with soupie this morning. I did have to spoon feed him but he ate it. He's getting the same thing tonight as well.
Charlie weighs 1.6lbs as of this morning which is more then I thought he weighed. However, he's still got a ways to go, too skinny. Charlie is still chowing down on the CC. He seemed to have more energy so far today. He managed to find a hole in my couch that they made and went in for further investigation. Lol. I let him go which I normally don't do but I am happy to see him playing for once.
I'll be back later with dinner updates.

Don't do the baby food. He'll try to manipulate you with it. Just cut back a little on the slivers and add a little more soup. So he ate 1 ounce at the meal or for the day? He may just NOT be hungry. As long as he eats a little bit, he should be ok. I have a 3 pounder that sometimes eats like a girl, but he's happy and active and his weight is stable so I don't worry about it. Check Ty's weight and make sure he's not losing. How are his poops and activity?
Linus is doing well. Don't change anything for him until he eats more by himself.
I'm so happy that Charlie is eating well! CC isn't a miracle cure, but I'm glad it's helping give him energy. Tell him I'm proud of him for investigating that couch hole!

Okay no baby food. Yes, so far today Tys eaten 1oz. He didn't eat much yesterday but he' stubborn. I stuffed a piece of chicken in his mouth this afternoon and he ate it. He was eating chunks pretty good before last month and was my best eater. I know he didn't forget, he's just being a pain in my patootie. I can't scruff and stuff bc Ty will not open his mouth I'm not a huge fan of the technique but if you think it will help, I'll do it. If Ty doesn't eat well tonight, should I try to hand feed him? I don't want him to only eat an ounce or so for 2 days. He's acting completely normal. Very active, looking for trouble and his poops are just fine. He is a very smart ferret and it's hard trying to find new things for him to explore. He has 2 whole floors of my house to roam and, well, he still gets bored. Drives me crazy but I love em. Everyone is still sleeping..looks like we will be dining late tonight. Hope you are yelling better today and thanks again for all of your help. I really appreciate it.

No, don't scruff and stuff. I don't like scruffing unless for emergencies. Just back off on the slivers tonight and give him more soup and hand feed him if necessary. As long as his behavior is normal, don't worry about him not eating too much. He'll eat when he's hungry.

Got it! I'm determined to win this battle! Lol
Linus did awesome ate 2oz of mostly chunks (dime size) and some soup. He was my worst eater and now he's in front. Doing well.
I should also mention that Ty's slivers are actually chunks from pinky nail size to dime size.
Charlie turned down his first CC meal ever not sure if this means anything at all but I thought I should mention it.
