Fez is good, no issues at the moment except he's getting a little bored cause I haven't been able to have him out playing as long due to the extra workload at work this week before Christmas.. d*mn retail. He weighed in at 3.03 last night, big boy.
I'm wanting to train him/teach him tricks and things but I'm wondering what raw feeders use as treats for them? I mean usually I'd use the little biscuits or something but I'm stumped?

Hmm, so no more than 3 meals of chicken a week?? Cause wings, gizzards, necks etc... So I can't do all that? Or am I understanding that wrong? Where do you find rabbit? That's an interesting one. Which pork bones are edible? Things like pig tails wouldn't work would they? I bought a better knife but it still wasn't good enough for the CGH last time, it was a mixture of cut and pull and break, I nearly bought some last night and wanted to but my freezer is too full right now! Uh oh. I'm trying to reorganize it again. There's no space for my food anymore haha. There's a LOT of turkey necks in there at the moment too for my dog, took me all year to find them so I stocked up around thanksgiving. Hi tobydog! I am new to Frankenprey too, and I recently bought my very first CGH. I was able to cut up the entire bird with kitchen shears. It was so easy! I even cut up the ribs and thick marrow bone with them. I find this method easier and faster than using a cleaver. I did the same thing with quails. Quails are smaller, so they are even easier with kitchen shears!

You can use freeze dried hearts etc. for treats. They also sell FD liver, but you've got to be careful about too much vit A.

What about freeze dried chicken breast? They've got that for dog and cat treats, would it be fine for ferret too? Or what about just boiled chicken breast? I use that sometimes too for my dog.

Freeze dried any-sort-of-meat would be fine. Boiled chicken is okay once in a while. It won't hurt him, but it won't have the nutrition that the raw or FD does. Salmon oil is a good option if he likes it, as is coconut oil

Hi! Merry belated Christmas! I came to visit my family for Christmas and my phone gave up on the way. been trying to get on here but parents Internet is terrible, so I bought a new phone yesterday, and found the app to use this forum, good times now!
Everything is fine on our end, eating well, coat is looking so shiny and soft! Haven't had a chance to weigh him since before we left home and he was 3.03lbs. He's a bit bored here, I had to set him up in a little play pen in a spare room cause there's 3 other dogs here + my dog, and I don't trust the other dogs. But he's actually doing really well and not complaining, no cage rage!
I also bought some freeze dried chicken & turkey that I want to try with him once we get back home. Really hoping to teach him some tricks!

Merry belated Christmas to you and Fez as well! I'm glad he is handling travel well. So many new places to explore! 3.03 lbs is good. Mine all top out around 2lb 9oz even in winter, so I'm imagining a lovely soft Halo of fur over a chubby kit belly. can you post some updated pics? So he has stuck with his menu on the road?

The menu went a bit off track with the travel, but we're going to restart it this week. He does have quite the belly! I'll try and post some pics... He's going through a bit of an ugly phase at the moment. I only noticed yesterday. His fur color and markings are changing, now he looks like he has a monobrow!

Fez is beautiful. He's like a reverse version of msav 's Bleu. Sometimes menus do go off track, you have the right idea to start over. In what way did you get off track?

His colors are changing a lot. That's why he's got the funky looking monobrow/unibrow thing going. He never had that before, the top of his head in that spot was a lot darker until the past few days!
Menu got off track just that things weren't in order. I took everything he needed for the week with us, but I just failed to give it all to him in the correct order that the menu was set up for. So he still got everything which I assume is okay - just not in order so we got a bunch of the gross poops.

As long as the meals are balanced for the week, he is good. I have a bin in the upstairs freezer and I go to the deep freeze and pull all the meals for the week and put them upstairs. I vary the order based on the poops, but don't necessarily follow my weekly menu to the T anymore. In other words: good job! It isn't always easy when you have a change in routine, like traveling, but you made it work!
You will find that Fez will have a constantly changing pattern. Even my poley sables get variances on the whit and masked portions. Right now avery, my chocolate, has really dark coloring on his back and lots of white on his face.
