You haven't updated lately in how much they have they have been eating. I'd like their weights as well. We need to keep track of these things to measure their progress.

Purée of organs is an acquired taste. Not that I would know, but according to my pacOfuzzimess they were NOT amused by my antics. Not a joyful few meals.
This morning, however, I served chunks of bone-in with tiny chunks of heart and liver and I am currently watching all of them eat. They are not avoiding the poison in the midst of the meat. So I consider this a progress.
I want to add a baby girl sometime in the near future as Possum spends more and more time sleeping. She was a rescue, her teeth are mostly translucent so I'm guessing her age at 7, maybe older. Dunno. I think a girl keeps the boys in check, plus my alpha (Grizzly) is VERY attached to her. The last girlfriend he had died in a horrific accident (she got into my washer) he lost half his weight mourning her. I would like to avoid this, or at least soften the blow.
Today is weigh in day!

So the hooked meat is going slowly, but morning meals are being devoured. I'm thinking the little shots know if they starve one meal the next one will be a favorite >_< . Should I stick with the small bones hooked up for the next several days?

Yeah, they've got to learn they have to eat what you give them or they will keep trying to manipulate you by skipping meals or snubbing. Do only hanged meats for the next few meals.

Possum attacked the hooked meat with a passion. Snickers was good until he realized he couldn't run off with the meat. It was so funny, you could tell he was downright pissed off at my silly nonsense. Sigh.

LOL, you certain do get closer to them when you are raw feeding. You gain so much more insight into their personalities.

I caved. I'm such a bad Ferrant. After 3 meals of hooked meat and with only Possum and Snicks eating very much... I caved and fed them FDR. They stuffed themselves and I paid for it with payloads of liquid, explosive pooh >_<.... Idiot mistake number 1009.

You can also try slashing the meat with a knife and then putting it on the hooks. That makes it a little easier for them. Another option is to lower the bar so that the meat is on the floor of the cage. It will still be attached but not "hanging" so not as difficult for them to eat.

Help!!!! Grizzly's sick. Last night I heard him retching, went to investigate, he'd been puking about half dozen times... I decided to give him blockage protocol. Until he pooped, orange. He obliged. I put him to bed, we were both exhausted. This morning he's sluggish, but not acting like he did when he had blockage. I weighted him, he is down from 3.15 oz to 2.5!!!!' He is drinking a lot, and he ate a few bites of raw egg. What now.?

Oh, I did lower the meat, but they were still not eating enough, Grizzly in particular (so I'm sure some of the weight loss can be attributed that (gosh I feel awful) so we are back to bowl feeding for now. Next time I will use your slicing idea. But I'm going to wait a week..

Yeah moving to hanging meat is a big jump. I actually never bothered beyond a few times with my girls. They get their meats in plastic deli tubs and everything is chopped up to the size of my thumb. That size is big enough that it forces them to chew and help keep their teeth clean with the bone in meats.

For his weight do you mean 3 lbs 15 oz to 2 lbs 5 oz? If so that is a major weight drop!! Please confirm that asap. This is why you need to track their weights regularly during a switch. When was the last time you weighed him?

I do weigh regularly, at least once or twice a week his weight. Remember on the 23 I was so proud that he was up to 3lb 15 oz..here are his weights for the last few weeks lbs.oz 12/28/14 - 2.13 1/05/15 - 2.13 1/07/15-2.12 1/15/15- 2.13 1/23/15 - 3.15 The only abnormal weight was the spike and then loss.. I also keep careful track of their food intake. I did find a 2'inch long 1/4 wide piece of skin in one of his pumpkin poops. I'm wondering if the spike in weight was water/poop retention? And the drop is the result of the amount of poop and pee he has been losing from the cleansing. I have been feeding him water with a touch of egg yolk all morning. He was dehydrated this early morning, but only slightly dehydrated now. He seems much better than he was. But he is still sticking close to his mama. ,should I give him pedialite?

Oh forgot to add that he has a couple sutures in his bowel from a previous surgery, so the skin may have been to large to go through the sutured bowel location?
