Is it okay to give leftover?
this morning I put the soup they didn't eat in the fridge, then tonight I took it out to thaw a little and I plan on giving it to them tomorrow.

LOL, Slinkee was a stinker. He loved his raw soup, but ONLY AT NIGHT! I would love to know what was going through his little head at that time! He devoured 2-3 ounces every evening, but refused to touch it in the mornings. I worked for weeks trying to get him to eat it in the morning. One morning, after I got ready for work (you know, shower, hair, make-up, dressed and ready to walk out the door), I decided to try him one more time. He ignored the spoon and stuck his whole head in the dish. I was so excited! I leaned over him telling him what a good boy he was and he turned to look at me with a mouth full of raw soup, looked me square in the eye and.... spit it on me! I was literally covered in raw chicken.. hair, face, clothes. UGH.. raw soup does NOT taste good to hoomans!!! Needless to say, I was late to work that day, lol. BUT that day was a turning point for him. He started eating in the mornings after that, so in retrospect, I guess it was a small price to pay.

Yes, leftover soup is fine as long as it hasn't soured. Smell it before you offer it again.

Oh my gosh he's so spiteful that's the cutest thing! (but sorry for your clothes and hair) Ferrets are so picky! I'm a little worried about who will eat what and when they wanna eat it. lol

Don't be worried about it. They'll learn to eat whatever you give them. Slinkee eats everything now without hesitation. He has his obvious favorite foods, but he eats everything.

Any updates on your boys?

Yes I was going to update tonight! So I've just been grabbing them and sticking my finger all over their mouth with the soup on it and they lick it off. Coco actually gagged for the first time, he realllllly hates it. Chanel is curious about it and he'll lick it a tiny bit but they aren't enjoying it yet.
I know this will take time.....so you want me to keep on doing the finger-to-nose thing everyday all day?
I'm still giving them the kibble because they act like they're starving. Can I mix some of the kibble in with the soup?

Until they're eating a good amount of soup every day, keep giving them kibble. As long as you're just dabbing it on them, don't worry too much about the timing, but once they start actually EATING the soup, you'll need to remove their kibble for a couple of hours BEFORE their soup and not give it back for a couple of hours AFTER their soup. It's been a couple of days now that you've been dabbing it on them, right? And you're sure the soup hasn't soured in the fridge before you give it to them? Let's try some tricks. I'll give you a couple of options and you decide what you want to try. 1) Are there any oils that they like? You can mix a little oil INTO the serving of soup (not the whole batch) and then drizzle a little on the top. Sometimes the oil will get them started licking and then they'll discover that the soup tastes pretty good too. 2) Have you ever tried them on all-meat baby food? You can get a jar and see if they like it - Gerber or Beechnut chicken or turkey, stage 1 foods. The only ingredients are the meat and water. My boy absolutely LOVES this stuff, my girl can't stand it, so there's no way of knowing if yours will like it unless you try it. If they DO like it, you'll mix raw soup into the baby food, gradually increasing the raw and decreasing the baby food until they're eventually eating all raw. This is the method I used for Slinks and it only took a few days to get him eating raw (at night ). 3) You can mix the kibble with the raw. Many people use this method, but I personally prefer to not use kibble as a crutch. If you want to use the kibble, you'll need to crush it before mixing it with the soup. Then again, you'll decrease the amount of kibble each meal. Whichever of these methods you decide to use, you'll still grab them up and dab it on them until they decide to accept it. Once they decide you're NOT trying to poison them, we'll work on getting them to eat from a dish. Make sure you have a flat dish for them, not a bowl. Ferrets like to be able to see what's going on around them while they eat and a bowl blocks their view.

Yep, I'm sure the soup hasn't spoiled. When I smell it, there's not really an smell to it at all. And it's a light pink color. I will definitely try all these methods lol They love salmon oil, and I'll go get some baby food today. The kibble... you know what, they aren't that crazy for kibble. Once I put it down for them to eat, they are a bit hesitant to eat it, but they eventually crunch on it. I give them the zupreem mixed with marshall's (because they've been eating marshall's since I got them) so I probably won't mix ground kibble with the raw And I had no idea about the bowl I will use a plate from now on.

Let me know how it goes. Honestly, I'm not too surprised that they aren't crazy for kibble. It seems that most ferrets, once they switch to raw, NEVER look back. My Minnie can be starving and have a bowl of kibble in front of her and never touch it. Slinkee on the other hand is a carb-junkie and tries to get the dog's food any time he can... <sigh>. (I know, I SHOULD just switch my dogs.)

Success! I mixed some salmon oil (one capsule) in the soupie. Chanel ate one whole ice cube of it.
I will try it next with Coco when he wakes up. Ho ho ho ....

How did it go with Coco?
Chanel ate it! WooHoo! Do you know how much the cube weighs? Weigh it before you serve it, then weight whatever is left over so we can determine exactly how much they're eating. Did he eat from the dish or did you have to spoon-feed him, or finger-feed him?

The cube weighs 8oz. First, I dab it on his mouth and he tastes it then he eventually eats from the plate. But he still isn't crazy for it yet. Coco is being very stubborn. Lol I'm just continually grabbing him and holding him and pretty much force-feeding him. Even with the salmon oil mixed in, he turns up his nose. Oh, and I couldn't find the baby food today. All they have on the shelves are the fruit or veggie mixed ones. Blegh. I'll look at another store tomorrow

8 OZ!? And he ate the whole thing?! Are you sure about that weight? That's a big ice cube.
So stubborn Coco is gonna be a holdout.. just be persistent. Don't force it down him, just keep dabbing so he has to lick it off. If you can, actually get a little IN his mouth. And just one time, then let him go play. Then grab him again 5 minutes later and do it again. We don't want him to resent this process.
At our local stores, the stage 1 foods are on the low shelves and hard to locate. You might ask someone if they have any.
