Caillou (5yrs old, male, marshalls) has had gingivitis for a few weeks that we can't seem to get away, he got a prednisone steroid shot last wednesday and is taking ZydaClin twice a day, supposed to for 14 weeks, still has 9 days left, so he's been chewing a lot, I replaced all fabric with denim but earlier today noticed 2 holes big enough for him to fit his head through, chewed into 2 different pairs of jeans. So I immediately pushed some vaseline, then did it again an hour later, I separated him and Juliet but he didn't poop since before 11:00 this morning, and I just ran to the store and bought some canned pumpkin and when I came home and was getting ready to give him 1 tbsp for blockage protocol I saw a big, runny/slimy sorta bright-ish green poop in the litter box, with a little bit of formed poop, but no sign of the denim. Just gave him 1 tbsp of canned pumpkin at 7:30pm, start of blockage protocol. At (around) 7:00pm he passed this poop- I need help, do I give this to him every hour alternating with vaseline and stay up all night long to give it to him? Can I feed him his normal meal (raw soup + ground turkey)?

Pushed 1 tbsp canned pumpkin at 7:30 pm, he was acting normal.
And just pushed 1 tbsp of vaseline at 8:30pm. Normal behavior so far, no more poops yet.

If he is pooping then he isn't blocked but it could be a partial blockage. Keep following the blockage protocol until you see orange poops.

Just gave Caillou 1 tsp of vaseline- at 10:30 pm. No poops yet, normal behaviors, no signs of pain or distress. Will obviously not sleep, at all, tonight, going to be watching him very, very closely. Feeding Juliet in a minute, considering Caillou was sucking down the pumpkin in vaseline that he previously wouldn't touch, I'm guessing he's hungry, but my little porker will need to wait. Not freaking out as much, thanks to Jason who has calmed my nerves with a partial blockage. Prayers Caillou is okay will keep updating

You can feed him if he chooses to eat. Most blocked ferrets won't eat anything and it will help move things through if you do feed him ciao

Okay I'll feed him then, he acts starving.
He just now pooped, and it was a tad greenish, dark brown, and a slight orange to it. THANK GOD. I've never in my life been so happy to see poop before. Going to upload the picture and post it in just a minute.

Okay here is 11:00 pm poop And when I scooped it up ( to dissect :puke: ) It's more orange in the pictures, it was actually more of a light brown with a little bit of orange. I dissected it and nothing was in it, no fabric or anything. Heather or bitbyter should I continue the blockage protocol anymore or just observe his behavior and poops? I want to do another round of pumpkin and vaseline to be safe but I know the stuff is hard on their tummies. Should I?

Do the 1 more round if you want and then observe after that. I'd keep an eye out on his poops over the next week or so. If you see really thin poops that usually indicates a partial blockage.

Okay did 1 tbsp of pumpkin at 11:30 and will do 1 tsp of vaseline at 12:30 and then just stay up and observe him. I fed him 1.5 oz of his usual soup just a little more watered down and he ate all of it happily, is sleeping now.
Thank you guys and will keep you updated.

*UPDATE* I believe Caillou is alright now. Sometime between 1:00am and 5:00am, when I had dozed off, he passed this- And then at 5:45am he passed this- He's acting fine, acting hungry and bored. Is clawing, scratching and biting to get out of his cage, he hates sleeping on cage pans but that little bugger may never see fabric again... what was he thinking, scaring me like that! lol.

He passed another sort of liquidy stool at 9:00am like in the last picture but there was no firmness to it. He's completely freaking out, he's been digging and biting and going insane for hours. Finally I threw a towel in there to shut him up and within about 40 seconds he was chewing on it so I took it out. If he doesn't stop I'll have to move their cage outside of my room, I can't sleep when he does it. Might end up calling my Vet and well, demanding for a stronger medicine. He's been in distress and chewing for weeks and one blockage scare is enough for me, I'm exhausted with all of this sickness..
