As much as I try, I can never figure out some of the ferret colors. The only ones I'm pretty sure about are sable, albino, dew and silver. Everything else I don't know So what color do you think Nestle is? I feel like she's cinnamon or champagne, but I don't know the difference so I'm not sure

I'm curious about the color of Hershey too, but I think his is just the same as hers (He's the one on the right)

Im curious too. I've a supposed cinnamon ferret (her body is usually white / yellow and legs + tail dark blond. she has a really almost unnoticeable mask). But I've seen that color is also called champagne, sometimes one or the or the other is darken or lighter depending on the chart :S.

This ferret is said to be a "chocolate" ferret- Would you say Caillou is a champagne ferret? That picture is before he started raw. This is a before and after 6 weeks, the left pic was taken the same day as the one above, just so you can see the color change since he got darker too. I don't think he's very cinnamon, this is my other Neichei (D.I.P) and Cai is a bit darker than her, but I think she looks more champagne too. She got darker in the winter and lighter in the summer, but this picture is Neichei on December (26th) 2011. Sorry about posting my pics in your thread @mandi (shy)

I think cinnamons have a reddish hue. I'd cal Nestle a champagne. The chocolate Jules posted looks like Yoshie, atm. He started out much more brown than black. I've only had one other ferret change color as much as he does.

Colours are so subjective lol. I like the UK version....poley and sandy with various markings lol. Champagne is much more common than cinnamon. Cinnamons, true cinnamons are rather uncommon I gather. Sherry's very good with colours. ciao

Maisie (see avatar and link below) is supposedly cinnamon. Her 1st owner (I'm the 3rd) was a "pet shop lady" so I'm guessing she had the chance to pick what was considered unusual or special. Thinking about it, that's a red flag for people likely to abandon their pets -- they consider the esthetics above anything else. You can really see the red on Maisie's front arms and tail. You can see her tail (and other pics!) here: www.facebook.com/112073708851829/photos/a.772733392785854.1073741938.112073708851829/772733466119180Nestle definitely looks reddish to me, although his arms seem darker. I don't know. I called Maisie "light tan with some white around the face" for her lost pet/microchip registry description. I'm guessing that's a lot more descriptive to the average person! Hopefully I'll never have to test that theory. ETA: Sorry, Nestle is a "she"!

These are photos of Minion. He was considered to be a champagne. This last pic is of Minion and Atreyu. Minion's colouring changed as seasons came and went but he was either a lighter or darker champagne. During the winter he was darker (had his seasons backward) and during the summer he was lighter. Atreyu had gone from chocolate point, to blaze (I don't know where that came from??, he wasn't a blaze when I got him) to sable now. The colours of most of our farm ferrets are very unstable and change from season to season (not unusual) and year to year (this is a genetic issue) ciao

Caillou is much darker on the back, legs and tail than Minion. Colors are confusing! He isn't dark enough to be chocolate and he isn't light enough to be cinnamon or champagne.
